Pros: Inexpensive, intuitive, good battery life, good LCD. Cons: MP3 software is clunky, earbuds hurt after time, may not be enough memory for some.
I really enjoy my player. The 64mb of memory gives me, on average, one hour of music at 192kbps. The player's memory is expandable using SDD memory cards but I haven't tried doing this. The player uses regular or NiMH AA batteries. Using the ...
Pros: Excellent Sound, & Features, 64MB or add SD up to 1GB Memory Upgrades Cons: None

Pros: Great display, excellent battery life, expandable memory Cons: Befuddling menu system, cheesy on/off button, inconvenient case
Previously I owned a Nomad IIc which was stolen. I had been looking for a replacement and had several requirements. I wanted an mp3 player that was relatively small, that had expandable memory, that had good battery life and a player that had an easily...
Pros: 20-30 hours of playtime
Upgradeable to 576mb
Supports playlists
Lightweight and compact
Skip free Cons: Difficult to use playlists
Uses USB 1.1
Software not very intuitive
I purchased my Rio S10 on eBay for a total of $30. I then purchased a 256mb SD card for $30. So, for a total of $60, I had a hip, compact, lightweight, skip-free, 320mb MP3/WMA player (well, actually, it's only about 315mb, but still!), which translates ...
Pros: Compact/storage option, compatible software. BBB complaint brought results. Replaced with better unit 2x storage. Cons: Unit broke after 90-days. Poor/rude CSR support. BBB/higher authority worked replacement. Support department improved now.
UPDATE! The week prior to 9/29/04, I had given up hope of any recourse with Digital Networks North America, better known as the Rio Company and/or SonicBlue. The Better Business Bureau mailed a notice stating they had been unable to get any ...
Pros: Compact, offers everything you need, excellent sound quality, upgradeable, user friendly Cons: uncomfortable ear buds, memory card not compatible with back cover and batteries
I received the Rio S10 for Christmas two years and I immediately loved it. I have had nary a problem with it either. The size is perfect, small and unobtrusive, easily clipped to shorts or put in a pocket. It offers all the things you need: playlist, ...
Pros: Easy to use, long battery life, awesome display, SD and MMC cards, durable. Cons: None
I love this player! I have had mine for a year now and it is one of the more worthwhile purchases I have made. It is so convenient and I love finally having digital music that doesn't skip, I knew we would finally get rid of the bs anti-skip cd ...
Pros: VERY light, long battery, my very first MP3 player Cons: Odd on/off switch, hard to touch volume controls while running, no play list
I am a person who prone NOT to read the owners manuels on anything. Without consulting any documentation at all, I was about to figure out how to use this thing with great ease. It uploads music very fast. It took me about 2 minutes to upload 16 songs ...
Pros: Lightweight, easy to use, long battery life, cool case!! Cons: Weak on/off switch
I was a little iffy at first to purchase a RIO MP3 player due to all the negative reviews on some of their older, lower end models. However, after a few hours of comparing pricing and specs of other MP3 players in the same price range, it seemed the RIO S ...
Pros: small, case is odd but protective, display is perfect size, and easy yo use
Cons: low memory but that can be fixed
This MP3 player rocks. So far I've had no issues. 64mb is a little skimpy but the sound quality is good so you can download a converter (I use Audio Slimmer form download.com) and convert your songs to WMA and a lower bitrate, yet still maintain good...
Pros: Easy to Use, Easy to Upgrade Memory. File transfer is a snap Cons: Cannot use as memory storage device. Does not have FM capabilities.
The Rio S10 is a good MP3 player. I just bought it for my wife for her birthday. She didn't know she wanted one, but now that she has it, she won't take it off. The best thing I have found with this MP3 player is the ease of transferring music from ...
Pros: very good ,lighted display. Advertised as 35 hours on one battery, good sound. Protective case. Cons: Not many but read my review.
Kinda fragile?
I brought two refurbished S10 through Ebay, which I'd reccomend you do. The first one I lost....the second one I brought refurbished. The seller (Sonicblue), says there is a 90 day limitied warranty on this product. I've had it for thirty days plus. The...
Rio S10- Not A Good Choice! by mara_brook ,Jan 04 '07
Pros: Sound is Great
Comes with Nice Protective Case
Light-up Screen Cons: Holds Very few Songs,
Didn't Work Properly &
Has Cheap Design (in my opinion)
Excited? Not for long!
When I first received this mp3 player, I was very excited. However, this didn't last long at all.
Cheap Looking
In my opinion it has a cheap design. A nice little screen- yea, but the plastic look, and thickness could use an upgrade. Don't count on it fitting very well into your back pocket!
Only 12 songs? COME ON!
I was upset that it only held about 12 of my favorite songs- still, I only like about 12 songs anyway, so I wasn't devastated...
Until the real bad stuff started!
After only a couple months of owning the Rio S10, it started having some type of glitch, and it became a pain to use, as I could hardly ever get it to work. I was and still am very disappointed!
Don't Buy!
Personally, I would not recommend this item to anyone. There are a lot better mp3 players out there nowadays! ;)
