Pros: Best ergonomic design available, durable, reasonably priced. Cons: Some reliability problems, included headphones have only average sound quality.
For years, I've heard bad reviews of a lot of portable CD players because of their lack of durability. Companies didn't seem to understand that "portable" means "vulnerable." Sony (and a couple other companies) introduced the "sports" style portables ...
Pros: Good sound, very durable, water resistant, great sports cd player Cons: Headphones are awful
I just returned a Panasonic SL-SW940 portable cd player because I realized that it was not complely water resistant since I could see my cd spinning in a tiny part through the sides, and since water resistance is important to me, I need a player that I ...
Pros: build quality; battery life; rugged; sound quality Cons: poorly designed volume control
I bought player this for the build quality ( i was going to be doing a lot of travel), and this thing certainly has that in spades! It is as rugged a player as it looks. It is bulky, but that's hardly a problem with personal CD players, as it is ...
Pros: G-protection, hand strap, latch for closing tight, inside batteries Cons: Headphones
I've gone through several CD players in the last five years. Mostly because I'm pretty careless with them and I take them everywhere. Can't live without my music! I got the Sony D-SJ301 CD player as a gift. My dad pretty much got tired of seeing me ...
Pros: Very durable, great sound, unbelievable battery life. Cons: Included headphones leave much to be desired.
About me . . .
I love music, and to date, I own over 400 CDs of all genre, and needed a Walkman that would respect alternative, classical, R&B and jazz music. Not only that, I workout at least five times a week, so I also needed a...
Pros: Cd Lock, Joystick, 50 Batt Life, Handstrap, Like a tank durable. Cons: No MP3 Cd Player, No radio, backlight, or cd text
The only thing that keeps this from perfection is MP3 Playback and a line out connector other than that basically perfect. It doesn't skip for nothing I purposely drop it once in my school lunch room and it didn't skip a beat I just picked it up ...
Pros: Sturdy and does not skip Cons: sound quality is mediocre, and unit is heavy and bulky
The sound quality of portable cd players has been on the same downward spiral that most sound equipment takes when commoditized for the mass market. The reason for this is simple: Joe Duh Average wants FEATURES not SOUND QUALITY. If you read most of the r ...
Pros: Case build quality Cons: Sound quality is unacceptable for a CD player.
I bought this Portable CD player primarily for it's rugged look and anti-skip features. It also has a rubber seal all around that seems to work well against water, dust..etc. It seems built perfectly for jogging and all outdoor activities and may be able to live up to some abuse...
I was simply not ready for the sound quality (not)... I did not expect hi-fi sound that I get from my home stereo, but the sound of this portable CD player was unacceptable. I had to return it promptly to the store. The sound is confusing, hard, cold and un-involving - and it actually gets on your nerves after few minutes of listening...
I cannot really recommend this product to anyone
Pros: has a handle Cons: sucks up batteries
poorly designed
The first one I bought I had to return because it stopped working. Then the second one I got does the exact same thing. And the headphones broke. So I am not happy and I would not buy this product again.
Best Cd Player - No Contest by handsomefella ,Nov 22 '03
Pros: Great value and craftsmanship. Cons: Earphones sometimes awkward, controls take some getting use to.
I found this cd player to do exactly as I had hoped. I use it every day and can't get along without it. It has great sound and function. The ear phones are a bit too large for me but not a problem. It gets great battery life and can stand up to the typical knocks and dings some walkman's would not.
The "Wild One" Hi Tech Lover's by mickeytime ,Apr 23 '04
Pros: Lightweight and durable with no skips, great sound!! Cons: Only a cd player!! Sorry I have a radio!
This posse has 2 programs inside to keep from skipping and really unless you drop it it will never skip even during running. The headsets are in the ear and the music of Bose sound. The bass is massive and the whole thing is basically lightweight, its a hard plastic very sercure and was built originally as the only underwater portable. You can carry this anywhere and looks fasionablly great.Vry comfortable to where with the wrist rocket strap. If you ever sall those yellow cassette player like 5 years ago that was called the "Sports" model which was yellow ,well that dumb trick they tried in being different made people find out some people the music is like part of there body or a 3rd hand. When you listen let your mind escape anywhere.
Pros: Water/heat/sweat/snow/dirt/dust resistant
Good battery life
Solid system
Cons: Flimsy head set
Does not play MP3s
I have had this cd player for almost a year now and have absolutely no complaints about it at all. Its performance has been flawless since day one. I am a runner who likes to take my music with me when I am out on the road. I have abused this system in the rains of Germany, the snows of Italy, the dust of Kuwait and the heat/sweat of Baghadad and it has not missed a beat. I have played both commercial CDs, copied music and songs that I have converted from MP3 to audio format. The sound is great no matter what the format. The only bad thing I could say is the head set could be a bit sturdier, it doesn't seem to set right on my head but other than that I would highly recommend this system to anyone.
Nice Design substandard sound quality by induscreed ,Sep 10 '04
Pros: Build quality, ergonomics, battery life (50 hours!!!) Cons: Sound quality and poorly designed headphone jack
great cd player, I tossed it all over the place (my bed) and the sucker never skipped, but the sound quality is worse than a $10.00 player.
I'am using 200 dollar headphones and it still sucks.
The bottomline!
If you have a active lifestyle and want a rugged cd player there is nothing even remotely close to this player but if you're interested in sound quality then forget about it.
My cd's sound worse on this player than mp3's encoded @ 64 kbps.
