Pros: Outstanding print quality, simple to setup and use, great looking, low price, built-in card slot. Cons: Drinks ink, slow when printing color documents, relatively large footprint
I recently bought a new Dell Dimension computer and discovered that my old Lexmark P122 printer would not work with Windows XP. I called Lexmark, and they confirmed that they had no plans to issue an XP driver for the P122, because "the printer can be ...
Pros: Superior lab quality Photos, easy setup, very reliable, hits the mark!! Cons: B&W results could be better, Roll Paper is ok, works best with Epson Papers
Ive owned the Epson Stylus Photo 825 for about 4 ½ months. I was looking for a printer that would not only give me true photo quality output from scanned photos, negatives and digital files, but also provide me with a printer that I could use to...
Pros: Great quality pictures that last for years, and easy to use. Cons: Ink runs out quickly
My husband purchased the Epson Stylus Photo 825 over a year ago, because it was on sale for $79.99 at Fry's Electronics. The original price for this printer was around $150 at that time, so we got an awesome deal. The Epson Stylus lets you print your ...
The first time I used my printer, I thought...Wow this is the coolest printer ever. After using it for almost 2 years now, my enthusiasm has subsided. I am usually pleased with the way it prints photos. Colors are usually vibrant and accurate. There ...
Pros: Great Quality Photo Printer. LOW initial cost. Lower ink cost than HP. Direct Memory printing. Cons: Printer is louder then others.
I bought this printer to replace the Lexmark that I had. Installation is a breeze using XP Pro or Win 2000. No problems at all. This printer uses a single black cartridge and 6 color cartridge rather then the std 3 color cartridge on a "std" color ...
Pros: Fantastic photo quality, easy setup, good value Cons: Frequent ink cartridge changes, ink nozzle clogs can be frustrating
Bought this printer as a replacement from a non photo Epson Stylus C80. I have been a recent fan of Epson products and found a good deal on this printer. I like the ability to put memory cards directly into the printer as this avoids the extra USB cable ...
Pros: Picture Quality, Design of Unit, bunch of goodies Cons: Need to clean head often, expensive, costly to operate
This printer has very good quality than the previous one I owned (Epson C60). DO NOT expect this unit to be very quiet in comparison to some HP units or other Epson units. It is loud, but not as loud as the Epson C60. The first page that I have ...
Pros: PROS: looks like it would work good Cons: CONS: bad, bad, bad.
This printer never worked right. I know a lot of people who have had major problems with Epson, and now, sadly, I am one of them. The printer NEVER printed quality pictures. I had a 50 dollar printer that worked better than this one. Bye bye epson, never NEVER again.
Very expensive to operate by uncleross ,Mar 22 '05
Pros: Good photo print quality Cons: Ink hog
The print quality is very good. However, as others have noted it's an ink hog. The heads have to be constantly cleaned consuming a lot of unnecessary, expensive ink. Printing B&W means going into the settings each time you want to print, otherwise you waste a lot of colored ink. The whole thing is set up to sell Epson cartridges, I won't buy another one.
I got this printer with a rebate with my sony digital camera. It has been working just great for me. Print quality is awesome. But one word of caution, never use any other generic cartridges other than Epson OEM cartridges. Print quality becomes very very crappy. Cartridges from Epson are a bit pricey, but you will end up wasting more money on Bad generic cartridges if you choose to do so.
Ink problems -- will not print black only by merrrrrr ,Jul 09 '08
Pros: Almost looks like a real printer Cons: Uses half the color ink just to get it working -- very noisey
I have had so many problems with the ink. I gave up on color altogether. The software lets you choose 'Black only' but if it detects the color cartridge is out of ink -- it will not print at all -- not even the black. I removed the empty color cartridge completely thinking I could fool the software, but could not. Does anyone know how to fool the the stupid printer so that it prints black only? Hate this printer.
Stay away from this printer by southpause ,Jan 09 '05
Pros: I can't think of anything positive about this printer. Cons: It's an ink hog, the ink's expensive, the photo quality was spotty.
The Epson 825 printed beautifully for the first 6 months or so. But it sucked ink like a bathtub drain, it seemed the ink cartridges always needed cleaning, (which took additional ink) and the Epson ink monitoring software (when it worked) was always warning me the cartridges were dry when they weren't.
Look, we all know the big printer manufacturers are NOT really in the printer business: they're in the INK business; How else could they sell these printers so cheap? But Epson seems to stick it to you more than
the other manufacturers when it comes to replacement ink.
So, when this printer, inexplicably began giving me really BAD photos, and the software got glitchy, I set it out for the trash and bought a new Canon.
So far, I'm pleased with the Canon but I won't review it for at least a year, since most printers seem work pretty well the first few months we own them.
