Pros: high resolution, Price, great quality, easy setup, borderless printing, quiet Cons: slow, USB, no ethernet, Borderless printing not available in OSX, borderless on epson paper
This printer is Epson's narrow carriage version of the 1280. The printer is super easy to set up on a mac running OSX (take out of box, put cartridges in, plug in USB, print). Now getting optimum quality takes a little work, but if you seriously print...

Pros: Good dimensions, two cartridges, printing without fields, convenient software, moderate price Cons: Surplus of yellow color on prints
Construction.
This printer has rather modest dimensions. The body is executed from light plastics, only bottom is painted in darker color. The giving tray equipped with the moved terminator of a breadth of sheets is located in a back part of...

Print heads a constant headache
by rperls ,Jul 23 '05
Pros: Used to have beautiful crisp vibrant color output Cons: Now has leaky print head and sub-optimal print output after only 2 years of use.
When I first bought this printer, I was thrilled by the high quality photos I could print. Then the trouble started- the print heads broke down. Epson replaced the printer for me once, stating that I couldn't leave it on all the time, the print heads would "dry out". Now, the problem has returned, only this time, I already turn the printer off obsessively. The print heads leak, leaving streaks through your prints. No fun. And the ink cartridges are quite expensive- $20 for black and about the same for color.
