Pros: Excellent print quality and card readers Cons: Drinks ink and has typical print head clogging problem
I recently found myself on the lookout for a new printer for my wife. This is because the Epson C80 that our kids were using finally died. The computer situation in our house starts with my wife's PC and goes down to my kids and finally falls to me. This...
Pros: Easy setup, many printing options, roll paper, memory stick slot Cons: Frequent head cleaning,
requires powering off when not using,
horrible paper feed,
poor photo prints.
OVERVIEW: Overall I hate this printer. The photo printing is hit or miss: Sometimes it's great, sometimes it sucks. (I realize that my word selection--"sucks"--is not very professional, but it is still the correct term to use!) The print heads dry ...
Pros: Easy to set up. Mem Module Sockets Cons: Printer in unreliable
Couple years ago I bought my first digital camera, 5MP Sony DSC-F717. I quickly realized the cheesy Cannon printer I had could not handle the challenge. I went to the Sony sight and they suggested Epson printers, such as the 925. I purchased one. Easy ...
Pros: Great photo lab quality pictures. 4x6 photo paper roll for larger jobs. No computer needed. Cons: Frequent paper jams. Poor print quality for text. Unable to correct offset printing.
When I decided to buy a photo printer, I spent hours online researching. I had narrowed the field when the professional photographer that I frequent advised me that all of the 'pros' use Epson printers, that they are considered the best producer of qualit ...
Pros: Beautiful prints when new. Pre-mature printer failures. Cons: Inreliable. Epson printers fail with error codes after limited use.
After having owned several of this family of EPSON printers (780,825,890 and 925), I finally decided to change brands. (I know, why didn't I learn?). Well, for awhile, the prints from these models seemed really nice and sharp, but constant cleaning of ...
Pros: Good Photo Quality & relatively quiet Cons: Paper loader and feeder jams
I have been quite disappointed with this printer. The original purchase had to be returned under warranty as it jammed completely. The replacement printer has been somewhat better but regularly takes a feed of 3 to 4 sheets for a print and then either...
Pros: Easy to use, outrageous photos on premium glassy paper Cons: a little pricey
We were trying to decide between the Epson and the HP 7350 when the Epson Representative came into the store. He was great and demonstrated all of the features for us. He did not knock the competition and was not pushy. The machine sold itself. We...
Pros: Exceptional print quality. Images match exactly what I saw on my camera. Cons: It's slow and horizontal bands result when attempting to print from Photoshop.
It took me a long time to get this printer set up, because I was using my old USB printer cable inst ...
Pros: beautiful, clear pictures, even if scanned and retouched or resized Cons: Retouching options limited; doesn't work if one ink cartridge runs out.
My husband and I purchased the Epson 925 so we could make our own prints from our digital camera. W ...
Pros: None. Cons: Drinks ink. Hit or miss photo quality.
Not satisfied with this product at all. Drinks lots of ink. If you run out of color ink you cannot print in black until you replace the color cartridge. Continuously requires cleaning the nozzles which consumes the expensive ink.
I made the mistake of buying this instead of an HP. The quality of the color photo prints is poor. An Epson cartridge I bought failed after a few days use. It is noisy and slow. This is the LAST Epson printer I will ever buy.
So easy to use this top quality printer w. unlimited options. by belle97 ,Sep 30 '04
Pros: Endless possibilities, great quality and very convenient. Cons: None.
I received this printer over 2 years ago and could imagine having anything else. The quality of the photos are exceptional. The layout options are endless. The ability to print 4x6 photos on a paper roll so you don't waste paper is a great idea! You put you memory card right into the printer so you don't even need a computer. This printer is wonderful.
Quality good, paper handling awful by rivergoat ,Dec 15 '08
Pros: Image quality on photo paper very nice Cons: Paper handling terrible, expect more jams than feeds.
This 925 Photo Printer was a replacement for an Epson that died (and we know that inkjets aren't cost effective to repair most of the time). The image quality on photo paper was very good, and the handling of plain paper OK, but try any other paper and expect to throw a lot out, or just get frustrated. Heavyweight stock or glossy photo paper would more often than not jam trying to feed in. I would usually have to baby the paper at the feed end to try to get it to take.
And as others have mentioned, its print heads often clog requiring repeated cleaning (and wasting of ink - I think I ended up wasting at least 50% of the ink cartridges on cleaning cycles).
The abiltiy to handle roll paper was nice, as I had used photo paper in that format, but even that was often hard to feed in.
The R&D department needed to research this unit better before placing it on the market. I recently gave up and trashed the unit; and this will be the last time I buy Epson.
Pros: Good picture quality; built-in memory card reader can print directly, or download to PC. Cons: Frequent ink clogs; much time & ink wasted in needed "cleaning cycles".
I bought this printer at a show where a demo unit was continuously printing a beautiful series of pictures taken of prospective customers-- a great sales tool! After I bought one and set it up, I got similar results, too. However, I soon found out that near-continuous printing is all it CAN do; if you don't print anything for a couple of days, the inkjets plug up, and you must run one or more "cleaning cycles". Since I soon was using more ink cleaning than printing, I now tend to "save up" multiple digital photos and print them all at once so that less ink is wasted in cleaning compared to printing. (I was better off getting 'em developed at the drug store-- I got prints sooner!) I've set my 10-year-old HP Deskjet 660 back up again so that I can do impromptu text printing without having to do a confounded "cleaning cycle" on the Epson just to print one page! (It also turns out that the old HP is a better text printer, by the way.) The Epson printer is NOT recommended unless you will be doing DAILY color printing.
