Pros: Works great, cheap to print. Cons: Heavy. Large.
Summary: So I like my printer. I love the laser jet printers because you have to replace toner about once a year, where inkjets have to have new ink about twice a month. At $60 a pop, it just isn't worth it to me. Granted, inkjets are color, and this particular ... read more

Pros: Reliable and durable - amazing service life Economical to operate Will tolerate economy brand copy paper Cons: 300 dpi, 4 p.p.m. max resolution is inadequate for some complex graphics No color feature
Summary: This is the only computer-related or digital device I still have from 2002, when I got my first desktop computer. My own HP LaserJet 4L was actually built in February of 1993. My brother acquired it used around 1998, and used it ... read more

Pros: Thing is the energizer bunny of laserjets Cons: Only 300x300 dpi.
Summary: Long lasting workhorse of a printer just keeps going and going and going . . . I bought this HP back in '92 or '93 in high school. Originally I paid $399 for it at Staples and used it through 2 years of high school projects, 4 years of college papers, ... read more

Pros: Very reliable, doesn't need servicing, toners last forever, good for envelopes too! Cons: A little slow and loud. It must use alot of energy because my lights dim.
Summary: I bought this printer in '94 for $450. We have a small business and this printer has taken care of all of my needs. My friend and I bought the same printers within months of each other and not only have they never needed servicing, but our original ... read more

Pros: Steady and Reliable; Better Design then Later Models; Low Ink Cost Cons: Only 4PPM, only 300 dpi, parallel connection only, small paper tray
Summary: Purchased new in 1995, my HP4L is still going strong although it is now relegated to use as a back up to newer, faster ink jet printer. This was the first model in HP's economy series and was followed in by the 5L, 6L, 1100 and now the 1200 printers. ... read more

Pros: lasts forever toner lasts so long it's hard to remember when it was last replaced Cons: newer printers can print faster
Summary: This little guy started as the main printer for my dad's construction business in the early 90's, and was our main printer untill a couple years ago when we upgraded to a laptop without the classic printer port. Now, at least 15 years later, I'm

Pros: Laser sharp high quality printing, durable, economical. Cons: Haven't found any in 15 years.
Summary: I purchased my 4L in '93 or '94. Since then I've had an Epson, a Canon 300, and HP psc 950 and and Hp 1020. The 1020 is still running but my little 4L has out lasted and outperformed all the rest. This printer is rated at 3500 pages per cartridge, but

Pros: best printer I will ever own Cons: None
Summary: Bought this printer in 1993. Like the other reviewer, I still use this as my primary printer. Well its been 12 strong years and finally starting to see the effects of time - can't shake the toner cartridge enough to keep the vertical lines from showing

Pros: Economical with toner, and cartridges aren't expensive. Cons: Not good for graphics.
Summary: I got this for my desk at work when it was $400. I used it from the early '90's until this year. Now one of my coworkers who has more need of it has it on his desktop. (I'm using the network printer which is close to my cube.) I think I put 4

Pros: Reliable, simple, affordable. Cons: I don't believe it's produced any longer.
Summary: I bought this printer new in 1994, and still use it as my primary printer - though I've gone through 3 computers during the 10+ years I've had it. I have never had to have the item serviced, and never had any trouble with it at all. The only

Pros: Inexpensive to buy and keep. Very reliable. Cons: Slow compared to current printers.
Summary: I bought this printer used for $49 USD. The only thing missing was the plastic cover on the left rear of the printer to cover the parallel connection. This has been a wonderful printer. Does everything I want and seems to be working very well. I have

Pros: Quality hardware; Good Print quality; Great Driver Support (Win & Linux); Toner is Inexpensive Cons: Slow compared to newer inkjet printers; No duplex option; Small paper tray; No Colour
Summary: I purchased this printer at the beginning of my second year of University back in 1993. It's a testament to the quality of this piece of hardware that it has lasted 10 years and is still going strong, with regular use. I have never had it repaired or
