Given what I've seen out of RCA televisions since Thomson sold the brand to a Chinese company, this will probably be the last good review I give an RCA product. And that's a real shame, because, although I have a Sony TV that is better in many ways ...

Pros: The price. (If you're looking for a temporary tv)
Cons: Just about everything.

I purchased this exact tv in Walmart 3.5 yrs ago. I trusted RCA. I've purchased them my entire life. I have a small one in my bedroom that has lasted 8 years and still has no problems at all. Maybe I should knock on wood. I slowly noticed problems ...

Cons: Worst TV EVER!

MY RCA 27R410T has started to break, it is only 18 months old! It was not used for the first EIGHT! It now loses the picture after a few hours of viewing! First a few channels, then in minutes AL OF THEM! What a piece of junk! Just like JVC!

Cons: input jacks are inconveniently located on the front of the unit

One month after the warranty expired it crackled at every use and 2 days later completely died. Unbelievable. Do not but this product. In fact, after it died and I plugged in my 16 year-old sony television, I realized by comparison the sony picture and color were significantly better.

Pros: Good picture, good sound, $200 including tax.
Cons: DIED AFTER 110 DAYS, 90 day labor warranty! Slow change between channels.

The TV has a significant curve to the screen and has about a 1 second delay between channels. What do you expect for a $200 including tax TV.
I liked it until the screen went green in the middle with rings of Red and Blue as you go to the edges. The part that really torked me was that Walmart only has a 90 day warranty. RCA only has a 90 day labor, 1 year parts, 2 year tube warranty.

So much for buy American.
This TV replaced an 18 year old JVC that finally died.

Like the other reviewer our TV also took a long time to warm up/tune to other channels. We have had our tv for around six months and the thing is starting to die on us. When we try to change the channel or switch inputs on it we get black snow or a rollin screen. We have to turn the tv off for several minutes and as of tonight it is starting to lose the channel while on one straight channel. Very frustrating. Of course since it's been six months since our purchase we have had to contact the manufacturer direct. Will be interested to see their response. ...

Cons: loud (even when off), doesn't work properly

Don't buy it. We purchased one a week ago. It takes over 10 seconds to turn on and change the channel. When it is off it makes a buzzing noise. We exchanged if for another one and this time if you turn it off by the remote you can't turn it back on with the remote or manually unless you unplug it. It makes a popping noise when you turn it off and it still takes as long to turn on and change the channels and it still makes the buzzing noise. They are a good price, but its true you get what you pay for. STAY AWAY!!

Cons: Went through 2 of them so far and neither work properly.

Got really lucky and won this TV. Got it home and plugged it in. Everything was great until about 5 minutes and started making a popping sound and a flash across the screen. Would do this every so often while watching the television. Took it back and they sent it in for repair. It was returned and they said it was fixed. Got it home and still did the same thing. Took it back again. This time the store got RCA to replace the television. Just got the new TV home last night. Plugged it in and worked great. Woke up this morning and the TV was on but the picture was all snow! Tried turning it off with the remote and on the TV itself and wouldn't turn off. Finally had to unplug it. Plugged it back in and it was in black and white. Fixed the settings that were all turned down. Watched for 2 minutes and then it popped a couple of times and screen went blank, popped back on and then went blank again. Now I can't get it to turn back on! We call it the "ghost" TV.
