  • Perfect, if you don't play CDs

    Feb 05 '06
Pros: Great features such as display color selection & auto dimming
Cons: Flaky CD player & bad FM reception

Summary: I had this piece of junk clock radio from middle school that my husband finally made me get rid of in exchange for a newer model with actual features. After browsing around Best Buy, I choose this model based on all the extra features it had, plus it ...

  • This model should be discontinued

    Dec 13 '05
    Pros: Really great features...
Cons: ...that pale when the CD door fails.

Summary: My wife bought this unit because of its features -- most notably its ability to continuously play a CD for a set period of time, and then slowly fade into silence. She would put on something soothing like ocean sounds and found it very relaxing to have ...

  • Third time NOT the charm:(

    Aug 03 '05
Pros: Cool color display and nice looking unit
Cons: Too many mechanical defects of various natures.

Summary: I have tried three RCA CD clock radios now and all have had mechanical bugs that just cannot be overlooked! OK, I have had the RCA CD clock radio version before this upgraded model and was sorely disappointed. The CD player was very poorly designed and ...

  • Piece of Junk

    Jul 27 '05
Pros: We like the colors, the included weather radio, and the nice styling.
    Cons: CLICK CLICK CLICK!

Summary: We needed a new clock radio, so we went off to Best Buy and looked at all the available models. This one seemed to have it all, so we plunked down the cash and off we went. Setup was very easy, and we enjoyed waking up to the nature CD, as well as ...

  • Clicking noise and door problems resolved

    Apr 08 '10
    Pros: Most features are good.
    Cons: Just the clicking noises.

Summary: My wife has owned her radio for about 5 years. Two weeks ago, the door began to make a clicking noise as it closed over the CD. My son found that this noise could be stopped if a shim was placed under the door. To the best of my knowledge, a shim

  • Mediocre at best

    Nov 06 '07
Pros: The features are a good concept if they worked.
Cons: 4 broken out of 4 bought.

Summary: I bought this alarm clock because it looked like and seemed like it would work well. I have exchanged it 3 times (so far, going on 4) because of different things and it was only a few days past the ability to return it the first exchange. The CD player

  • Not too great

    Aug 17 '07
Pros: Looks nice. Auto time set. Inexpensive
Cons: Poor reception. CD Read errors. Confusing interface

Summary: I have no mechanical issues as the previous reviewer has but it one of the most user unfriendly units I have seen. Some cool features, sounds OK. I use it in my office but the reception is poor. The CD player won't read sometimes. And setting the clock

  • I returned mine

    Mar 04 '07
Pros: Good stereo sound when listening to FM radio
Cons: AM talk radio sounds muted "Ticking" when playing CD at low volume

Summary: I returned mine after only one week. The main reasons I purchased the radio were: 1. I wanted a radio with digital tuning 2. I wanted a CD player by my bedside Of all the CD clock/radios I listened to in the stores, this radio had the richest

  • Nice...but,

    Nov 13 '06
    Pros: One touch weather.
Cons: Doesn't perform like you think it would or you're used too.

Summary: Nice features include the display options, one button weather, and dual alarms. However, the display dimmer and graduwake features were not like I'd hoped. The display is too bright at the lowest setting. The graduwake alarm sound starts off quite loud.

  • What a piece of junk!

    Oct 29 '06
Pros: Dual Alarm, Changeable color display
Cons: CD Player doesn't work, Display freezes making it unusable, RCA is not helpful

Summary: My husband purchased two of these pieces of junk because he got a "good deal". The first one had problems with the CD door clicking off the bat so I stopped using the cd player. The rest of it worked for about a year and one day everything on the display

  • Doesn't work out of the box

    Apr 24 '06
Pros: Lots of great potential features
    Cons: Likely very poor quality

Summary: I just bought this after reading a review on Slate.com saying it was the "best" clock radio. When it arrived at my home, the LCD display did not work, so I can not try most of the features. From what I can tell, the other negative reviews are valid:

  • A little hard to operate.

    Feb 16 '06
Pros: Gradual alarm, Choice of colors for screen, awake to CD!
Cons: Tiny buttons, hard to set, hard to operate.

Summary: It had the gradual alarm that starts off low and gets louder that I wanted. But I find the display hard to read in the middle of the night. My old clock was readable without putting on glasses, this one even with all the color choices is hard to read.

  • Had 4 of this model, each one the CD player died

    Dec 25 '05
    Pros: Compact, stylish, great functions
Cons: CD player stops working in a very short time

Summary: I had purchased this model because it had all the functions that I liked, looked good and would fit in the small space on my bed headboard. On each model the CD player stopped working. Thank God I had bought it at Target and was not stuck with it, also

  • Don't Even Think About Buying One

    Dec 01 '05
Pros: Great Sound & Good Looking Unit
Cons: The CD Door has a real problem

Summary: I purchased three on sale at Best Buy and returned three because the CD would not work properly. After going through three more, I found one that would work. I refunded two. I kept one and the CD door on it lasted 6 weeks before it broke. Sent it in

  • You Be The Judge

    Sep 12 '05
Pros: You can preset AM/FM stations and listen to of the local TV stations as well.
Cons: The NOAA weather broadcast comes and goes depending on the weather conditions.

Summary: I purchased the radio to replace an older dial tuning model and use it in an office environment to listen to talk radio and the news. Although the manual state you can store up to 11 preset "radio" stations, the 2 local TV channels I programmed are
