Broan NuTone QS230 nice quite product
by larryholmen ,Oct 11 '07
Pros: very very quite Cons: heavy, not fun to install. minor vibration.
If your looking for a range hood the will do the job without all of the noise normally experienced when your trying to clean the smoke out, this one does the job with style. I would have purchased the QS3 model but my state requires a $3k heat exchanger for any unit over 300CFPM. You have to put your head under the hood the hear the fan operating in the low speed, medium speed in not much loader, high speed is about the same as our old unit when it was operating at low speed.
Was not fun to install, rather heavy with a few sharp edges. When the install was completed Im not sure which one of us was the most bloody.
The only problem we have seen is that the lights vibrate when the fan is running in high speed. I think this problem is correctable by doing a better job of mounting with vibration isolation dampeners.
