why details the reciever sound is perfect in low or hi volume. if you want sweet sound do not buy anything else.

setup and operation were straight forward. hooked up two inputs: pioneer dvd player/component video/optical audio cable,sony ps/2 w/optical audio). output: SONY 51" display w/component video. setup of the receiver can be done without the onscreen display just as well as I had to change the default input from coax to optical for the dvd player. it automatically went about verifying all loud speakers were either present or absent and in the right position. I was pleased with the thx decoding of Episode 2/Attack of the clones which also has tests to verify both audio and video thx settings. All tests on that cd passed wihtout problem. Lthe remote control while a bit larger than I would like to hold, was well laid out and I was able to have it control the sony tv's basic settings but becomes cumbersome to assign buttons if you need to configure more than on/off and volume. In all, this system is sure to satisfy home audo/video enthusiasts.
