Pros: Best RTS released so far. Cons: Has various, minor shortcomings; Don't get it if you hate strategy games
This opinion is an update. It uses a rating system that I have decided to institute (at the bottom).
Blizzard Entertainment again proves that it can do a lot with a little. When you first see Starcraft's in-game interface, you may be...

Pros: Awesome graphics and sound, great playability Cons: Sound bites repeat a lot, Action slows on larger maps
Most would agree that Starcraft is aging well. Real time strategy games come and go but only the best survive. This is truly one of the best of it's kind. Then again what would you expect from the people who brought us Warcraft.
The game...

Pros: Straightforward, fast-paced strategy game that can appeal to any gamer Cons: Too addicting? Ruins your life because you'll want to play it 24/7?
Blizzard released its multi-million copy-selling "Starcraft" way back in April of 1998, and more than a year and a half later it continues to compel millions across the world. No other real-time strategy game in history has had this much...

Pros: Addictive, Multiplayer, Balanced Races, Good Gameplay Cons: Addictive,Single Player is Okay..
"C'mon baby lets get into my chair and spawn some zerglings". Okay so I was wrong, you shouldn't use that line as a pickup line at the mall. Unless you think "You can infest my Command Center anytime" is a good one too. *SLAP* Okay...

Pros: Best unit balance, movie-like plot, Zerg and Protoss tunes, Mission Editor, superb voice acting, no single crash in 18 months, I can go on for ages... Cons: There is no Gameboy version so I have to stop playing it when I’m not at home :-)
The year is 2499. Most worlds of the galaxy were colonized by the oppressive terran Confederacy, whose supremacy remains absolute in galactic domination...
Well, I can say not for long, after playing Starcraft’s ten-mission initial campaign. ...

Pros: Excellent Gameplay, AI, Sound and Graphics Cons: There's something wrong with Starcraft? :)
StarCraft is one of those games that from a glance you might think, "doesn't look that good". I used to think this myself, I was happy playing the legendary Warcraft2 which was also made by Blizzard. Warcraft2 provided me with a simplistic yet...

Pros: great gameplay, graphics, plot Cons: after a year or 2 it gets repetitive
I showed very little interest in strategy games, having never played one in my life, but the first time I played Starcraft (Windows), I was instantly hooked. With vivid graphics and various possibilities and scenarios, Starcraft is a combination of...

Pros: amazing multiplayer via battle.net; great depth Cons: single player is good but not the selling point of this game
A 2hr movie will cost you 8 bux; Starcraft will keep you occupied for hundreds and hundreds (and hundreds...) of hours for an initial investment of $40.
I bought Warcraft 2 (Blizzard's previous RTS release) when it first came out and returned...

Pros: 3 races all with different abilities, Protoss great video game race. Cons: "Big Thing Syndrome" sets in too fast
Probably in the lone dissenting opinion of StarCraft, I thought the game was only OK. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, and very fun to play, but it also has a slew of shortcomings. First of all, I just couldn't find myself being drawn into the...

Pros: Firm plot, great soundtrack, well-balanced units, innovative races, fun map editor, UNLIMITED REPLAY Cons: multi-player learning curve a bit steep, editor not terribly intuitive
From the day I sat down to watch my roommate play this game multiplayer online to the day I smashed my CD a year and a half later, Blizzard's "Starcraft" owned our dormroom. Blizzard includes a disclaimer you must agree to before using the game or map...

Pros: fun, challenging, good graphics Cons: hard at first
Well, if you're into strategy games and killing things, Star Craft is a game for you! It tests your ability to strategize and your speed to build defense and offensive units to detroy the computer's or other people's bases!
There are...

Pros: Advanced computer intelligence, 3 different races, very good strategy game Cons: Very addictive. Kiss you life good bye for a bit.
Not in Starcraft they don't. Fast on the heels of the success of Warcraft II and Diablo, Blizzard released Starcraft. They want back to the war simulations but this time moved it into space with alien races duking it out with the humans instead of the...

Pros: graphics, sound, multiplayer online, long Cons: overly difficult without codes, addictive
Starcraft. Starcraft Starcraft Starcraft. Practically everyone has played it and everyone will know what you're talking about when you mention it. Although it is pretty good, I really don't see what everyone is so worked up about. It's a good game to...

Pros: Timeless, Addicting, Well-written game, So many different combinations to keep game interesting, Ability to play with others (Mac, PC, Internet) Cons: Not the most state-of-the-art and sexy game
There are only two games that I think are completely timeless and a complete masterpiece: Tetris and Starcraft. By timeless, I mean you can pick up the game after 2,3,5 years and still enjoy playing the game and it's still fresh and addicting. ...
