Pros: Keeps oil odors to a minimum. Set timer and walk away, no checking. Cons: SureRELEASE Plug never stays in place. Basket too small.

A decent fryer for the price
by apfox ,Mar 14 '05
Pros: Inexpensive, good for small batches and infrequent frying Cons: Cleaning is terrible, and has some problems staying at temperature
This fryer does a pretty decent job. If you want some french fries for 2 people or so, or to fry 3/4 lb. of chicken wings, this does the job adequately. The basket is a bit of a hassle, and I find that things often float out of it while cooking due to its placement. The unit has a hard time keeping its heat when you drop things in. By the time it heats back up, it's time to take the food out.
The worst part of this is cleaning. If I could give one piece of advice for deep fryers, it would be to get one with a removable oil compartment, or one which is so simple that it can be submerged (some fry daddys are basically oil compartments with handles). Having a fryer you can clean easily in the sink or dishwasher makes life a lot easier. Unfortunately, this unit is not removable, and so the best you can do is carefully spray water in the unit.

Great place to store your oil but that is all

I bought this because it looked great and it was less than $30. Well I found out it is a wonderful storage unit for your oil and that is it - It does not fry anything well, not even French fries - My fry pan does a better job!!
