SIM2 HT300 DLP Projector

Pros: Great picture
Cons: Unreliable equipment with company that doesn't stand behind it.

Purchased Sim HT 300. Professionals had some difficulties with installation. Great picture when it works. The internal hardware went bad after 370 hours. The company acknowledged that the hours were low, but wouldn't stand behind the equipment because the warranty time period had expired. Repair cost....$1400. Had same installation company out to repair it. Sim sent the wrong fix for the projector. We have friends who bought the same projector and had to replace it the first year. Bottom line, the projector is not very reliable and the company doesn't stand behind it.

I have installed two of these projectors and they both failed. The first unit had about 4000 hours on it when the formatter board died. Seleco wanted $1300.00 for the repair. The fact that it had 4000 hours was made an issue of as if that is alot of hours. The second one had 450 hours and again they wanted $1300.00 for a new formatter board. But this time the rep didnt have anything to say about the time put on the unit. These units look good when they work but my experience is that seleco puts out a inferior product and wants the customer to pay and pay for seleco's inability to make a projector that works.

Pros: Great picture when it worked.
Cons: Inferior product that should have been recalled and taken off the market.

Like other reviewers I have had nothing but problems with this HT 300 projector. It has been back to the shop twice for repair and it's ready to go back again. The problem is always the board and the response is worse than poor. I have put in the original coast of the projector plus two fixes of around $2,000 each including cost of the returns/shipping.I'm ready for some kind of legal action anyone want to join me?
