Pros: Price! Easy set-up, duplex, bold color doesn't seem to come off on folds Cons: More consumables to worry about than inkjet, complex pages may require memory upgrade
Summary: After replacing inkjet cartridges on my HP970 again -- $75 -- I decided to look into exactly how much a color laser printer would actually cost me, and if I could justify it. I just purchased an Oki 11x17 for the office and did all of the cost per ... read more

Pros: Low price, duplexing, print speed, text clarity, easy paper loading. Cons: Heavy weight, toner replacement prices.
Summary: I bought this printer at Staples for $299 for home use. So far it has served us very well printing both color and black & white documents. The colors are rich and the details are good too. I had read about some fuzzy text printing on other ... read more

Pros: low purchase cost, duplex as standard, quiet operation 48dB easy change toners Cons: control panel too simplistic; LCD display not backlit, very heavy to lift
Summary: Samsung lead the way once again on price and spec with the CLP500 colour laser printer. Offering full colour laser printing with auto-duplex as standard, but at comparable prices to high-end inkjet! Duplex was the overriding factor in my choice of ... read more

Pros: Quiet, easy setup/maintenance, duplex (double-sided) printing, better paper feed than some competitors Cons: Supplied toners not full, networking option is expensive, false compatibility claims
Summary: Setup was painless (in the physical sense too, as long as you have a helper. DON'T try to lift or move this printer by yourself unless you want a hernia). Inserting the imaging kit and transfer belt was straightforward, and inserting the toner ... read more

Pros: Initial cost. Print quality. Reliability. Duplex printing. Cons: Toner cost.
Repair cost exorbitant.
Samsung service.
Summary: The CLP500 was inexpensive to purchase but the cost of the 4 toner cartridges was 30% above the initial purchase price. We found it reliable and the print quality excellent. We duplex print most documents and that worked very well, except from one

Pros: Decent Printer Cons: Samsung Warranty replacement was a joke
Summary: I was happy about the printing. It was a little loud and took a long time to warm up after sitting idle. My unit is less that 7 months old and was purchased new. Recently I moved it from one desk to another. It began giving me the Waste Toner

Pros: good output once it gets started. Good sharp documents. Cons: Expensive toner, noisy, slow, problem with a sensor for waste bin for the toner.
Summary: The printer has decent looking output and looks good, especially for the price. I bought it to do printing for a little non-profit I volunteer for and it has done a decent job in many respects but has been disappointing in many respects also. It is very

Pros: Average to good color printing at low cost. Cons: Funky waste toner error issue, Noisy & slow.
Summary: Hey for $400 brand new you can't complain. Has average to good color laser quality. A little slow and noisy but as the title of this message says you get what you pay

Pros: Good color image quality, duplex operation, network interface Cons: Waste toner sensing problem stalls the printer. Slow. Expensive toner replacements. Slow color printing speed.
Summary: I bought this printer for a small office in need of a quiet duplex color laser printer with a network interface. This printer has been acceptable if you don't mind the long warm up time, the slow color printing speed, the waste toner cartridge sensor

Pros: Cheap for all the features. Cons: EXPENSIVE consumables.
Summary: The Drum and transfer belts lasted less than 30K sheets. They cost as much as an entirely new unit. So, I bought a Minolta to replace this one. Other than that, a great

Pros: None Cons: everything
Summary: This printer came up with two errors - it took five days for an engineer to turn up, when he did he spent half the time complaining that he was always sent out to jobs without the parts that were required. Needless to say the printer couldn't be fixed

Pros: Duplexer excellent. Excellent quality at 600 resolution. Fantastic on 1200 high resolution. Easy setup. Cons: Bulky, and heavy. Partial cartridges.
Summary: Beautiful printing that resembles offset! No "waxy" look. Superb color correction tools in the driver. CLP-500n comes ready for standard ethernet which is worth the extra cost. The duplexing option and the price more than compensate for the size and

Pros: Built-in duplexer. Color is of good quality. Paper tray is internal. Cons: Built-in duplexer is unreliable. VERY noise compared to HP. Forget Samsung.
Summary: I purchased this about 3 months ago. There has been a grinding noise since day 1. NOT quiet even though they advertise it as extremely quiet. I called their service line and was basically told that the noise was normal, even though the ones I heard at
