Terrible camera. Horrible pictures(so grainy they look like sand even at the highest resolution. How this camera made it in stores, I have no idea. Samsung should stick to making cellphones.

I just bought one less than 6 hours ago and I have already decided to return it for something else. I had a 1.3 Olympus and needed to upgrade so I bought this 4.0 and thought the picts would be 3 time better. Actually the 1.3 has better images than the Digimax 430. After downloading and comparing the images, I noticed that the Samsung is extremely grainy. In fact you can see a diagonal pixel pattern which I assume is the CCD or something. No other digital pictures that I have contain this pattern when zooming in. I have pictures from all types of cameras saved on my harddrive and these are the worst by far. I will trade this in for either a Sony or Olympus ASAP!

This camera takes really really bad pictures. and I mean bad. It is often out of focus and color saturation sucks.Buy a FUJI 2MP for 99.00 to get better value and results.

If you've read my previous review of the Nikon 3700, you probably figured that I'm on the hunt for a digicam with 30fps video and sharp pictures.

I'm sorry to say I have to return the Digimax 430.

Video:
Video was noticeably much much worse than the Nikon. The audio was much lower, and the grain was unacceptable.

Stills:
Again, much, much worse. At times I thought I got focus, but pictures on the PC showed them very soft and out-of-focus.

For now, get it looks like you have to carry two separate items for something "presentable" for both video and stills.
