Pros: Amazing picture quality, versatile, has picture in picture and a good speaker system Cons: I have seen a model go bad.
The Picture
Personally I have seen these TVs next to the Sony TVs at SEARS and Best Buy and I think Samsung has a better picture quality for the price. The line doubling technology is very evident when you watch TV. Regular cable looks much...
Pros: Great picture! Great price! Cons: Only one High Definition Digital Input
I went to Direct Buy with the intent of buying a Sony WEGA 32" Analog TV set. I saw the HDTV sets and was truly amazed by the picture clarity but the prices were twice as much as I expected. Then I saw the Samsung, the price was within the wife...
Pros: stunning picture, great sound, a handsome piece of electronics Cons: input switching needs work
After my 35" RCA gave up the ghost after only four years (but that's another review…), I decided to go looking for a new TV that could give me the big picture and features had wanted. When I walked in to the store, I was determined to go with a Sony...
Pros: Excellent Picture And Sound. Cons: Menus hard to figure out
Recently, I went shopping for a new television. The old one being retired by old age. I had gone to several places. Just looking still... Then I was at my local Sears when I saw this gem parked right next to the Sony Equivalent. It had both better sound...
I'm not a TV addict and I don't even have a DVD player but the overall picture quality with analog cable is good. The few artifacts that you see are difficult to pin down because broadcasters use so much digital processing in the production and...

I've had this TV for... by don_c_dt3000 ,Jul 05 '02
I've had this TV for 3 months, and so far I consider it a superb set. The picture quality is outstanding -- as good as, or better than, any other TV I've seen. And the price was a little better than Sony, Panasonic, etc. The only thing I'd like to see different is more inputs. It only has one antenna input, whereas top of the line TV's of 10 years ago had two. So I had to do some creative patching to get the flexibility I wanted. I called Samsung tech support and asked, and they confirmed that there wasn't a second "antenna in." They told me that this TV wasn't intended for "high tech" people. What did they expect -- people to buy a HDTV and use it with rabbit ears? But this so far has been a minor inconvenience. Overall it's a truly fine machine.
Looked at HDTV units for... by paul_t_dt3000 ,May 20 '02
Looked at HDTV units for the past 6 months, and decided on the Samsung after viewing Sony, Panasonic, and Toshiba at a number of outlets. I have several Samsung products and as yet have not experienced a reliablity problem.
Purchased at Sears with 10% discount by using their credit card. I have it hooked up to Direct TV system....fairly straightforward installation after waiting for someone else to help me lift the unit and place it into our entertainment center. Picture quality superb--no comparison to our Panasonic unit, even with straight digital Direct TV signal. Speakers are definitely a cut above normal televisions.
Menu setup a bit difficult to follow at first, but soon got the hang of it.
Only had this televison for about a month, so I cannot speak for long-term reliability. The only negative so far is that I do notice picture "echoes" on fast-moving or action scenes. You really have to look hard to see them, otherwise you do not notice.
