Bought my 512mb Cruzer Micro over a week ago and it is awesome. Tiny little thing comes in very handy when transferring files from work to home and back again. Very small design. Looking forward to buying the MP3 companion for this product. Priced at just under $100 makes this well worth it.

First of all, yes, out of the box, it is slow. But for the average user it should not be too hard to speed things up.

First of all, download the utility below, it is from HP, but HP no longer lists it on their site. Long live search engine cache.

Look for the file "SP27213". You will find a link, but click the "cached" version of it, HP no longer hosts the utility.

Run the utility and reformat your drive using NTFS file system, using compression ( or not ).

Now it is faster. I copied files that previously took 65 minutes to copy, now I copy them in 2 minutes

I just bought it too, and came here.

Large files, 10mb, VERY Quick.
2K Files -- 12 minutes to copy 100 2K files to it. Deleting them are even worse! It takes 1 second per 2K file to delete, bottom line it will take 100 seconds to delete 100 files (1 1/2 minutes!!)

I am on my way back to COMP-USA to return this

I've had mine for a few months and used it maybe 25 times to transfer files to/from my laptop to my desk pc. All of a sudden, it won't allow me to write to it. I can read the data on it but not write to it.

I've done a search on the internet for a solution and it seems that I'm not the only one who's having problems.

It takes more than two hours to write a 87MB file! Yes that's right, I double checked on several computers and I double checked what I have just written. The folder I am copying has a lot of sub folders and files but the speed is totally unacceptable.
