Sansui TDC2075 20 inch TV/VCR/DVD Combo TV

Pros: Low cost, paid about $200 after rebate. Extra inputs on front and back are handy.
Cons: Poor remote. Can't get any universal remote to work with it.

Have had this unit for approx 6 months with no problems. Picture quality and sound is what you'd expect from an economy TV but it is more than good enough for our use. VCR timer is a bit more complicated to program than most VCR's I've used in the past. DVD player works great!

Based on the other reviews I spent the extra $20 and bought the three year warranty from Shopko.

Pros: Good picture. Good sound quality with headphones only.
Cons: Terrible remote. Almost unusable VCR for recording.

The VCR portion of the TV does not work properly. The channel will not change to the channel programmed into it. It records only the last channel you were on when you turned the tv off. The "jump" feature does not work (supposed to be able to toggle between tv viewing or VCR/DVD viewing). Piece of junk.

Bought this on Jan 25th, 2004 and all was well (great TV picture and DVD playback) until I tried the VCR player last night. I was shocked to have a bad picture with my good tapes. The words such as the FBI warning and other text was OK, but all the people were blurred and looked like modular "computer robot people." I was shocked. When I called the Service number in the manual, they said the heads can get dirty in shipment and to either play a blank tape through it 4-5 times at fast forward or use a VCR head cleaner. This doesn't seem right to me. Other VCR's I have bought have worked fine from the start and played for years without cleaning. I am going to go back to Best Buy tonight and see what they have to say about fixes/returns/exchanges. Plus I want to try a tape in the floor model! I would love to rate this higher, but I think if one of the three parts that you buy does not work well from the start, we have a problem.

Pros: Good bargain - great picture - nice features
Cons: very poor remote control layout and design

I bought this TV from Best Buy for $199 + tax - a really good buy - my only problem is no universal remote will work with it and no other sansui remote will work either. Does anyone have any suggestions - the remote control on the unit is hardly useable to such small poorly placed buttons.

This set is JUNK! We got this TV for our children. We looked for a TV that was easy for our daughter with Autism & our 4 year old son. Within the first day the DVD player broke. Now the VCR is broken. While the remote wasn't easy to read or use the set itself was. However after some research I am finding many people are having the same problems. I have also found that Best Buy isn't standing by their product nor is the company. No one will help us. Now one of the few joys our daughter had is gone. As the saying goes..buy cheap..get cheap!

Cons: its great until it breaks down and there is no customer support.

i had problems with this television from day one. i bought it from best buy and even they were unwilling to take it back. they did agree to fix it though. the tv seemed to work fine for awhile. but almost to the day that my warranty expired, blurry lines appeared at the top of the screen. i ignored them for a while. ( which was my own fault) a few weeks later, the screen went completely black.
here is the worst part. best buy doesn't take any responsibility for it, which i expected, but the manufacturer sansui ( which is made by orion) basically says, 'sorry there is nothing that we can do about it'. i have a television in my kitchen that ive had for almost 10 years. i guess i was spoiled into thinking that tvs were supposed to last a long time.
