Pros: Big display. Nice size buttons. Love Sirius Cons: Broke form normal use. Not cool.
Ok, I came here. Read the reviews, actually the warnings, and figured, I take care of my stuff, they didn't. Well, I will admit I was wrong and I am sorry for not trusting the folks here. The unit itself offers what looks like a good deal. It has the ...
Pros: Easy to move between home and car, great performance. Cons: Messing with the cables is a pain, and antenna installation likewise.
Considering it comes with the equivalent of both a full house and car kit along with the receiver, and even three interchangeable colored skins (black, chrome and metallic blue), this is the most affordable plug-and-play Sirius kit available. This unit ...
Pros: I was able to listen to some really great programming when it worked. Cons: My Sanyo CRSR-10 broke twice in the first three months.
The Sanyo CRSR-10 is the most cheaply-made electronics item I have ever purchased. Buyers beware. The car mount antenna broke within two weeks- the antenna wire broke where it attaches the the magnetic part. So, I started using the home antenna in ...
Pros: Easy to read, buttons are spaced so your not pushing 2 at the same time. Cons: I cannot find any additional car kits for this unit.
I read the reviews and I cannot figure out the problems people are having. I am a truck driver and bought my CRSR-10 back in April of 05. The unit itself has roughly 120,000 miles of all kind of roads and weather. I NEVER had a problem with the ...
Pros: Cheap, small, various channel preset options, includes home kit Cons: No remote, doesn't include all equipment for FM transmission, odd channel up/down buttons
I don't have a car, so buying a Sirius radio unit that came with a home kit was my highest priority. The Sanyo CRSR-10 supports 20 channel presets via 11 buttons (band A/B button and 10 number buttons), has a relatively large LCD screen with an ...
Pros: Home & Car Kit. Good Sound. Easy to use and move. Cons: I remote would be nice, but not critical to me.
I've had my unit since Christmas. I move it from home to work. I have a permanent mounted Sirius receiver in my car. I like the Sound Quality especially when transmitting to my surround sound system. I have good reception. Almost as good as my car's unit. I leave the car antenna at home (on a window ledge) and move the unit power supply and indoor antenna. The car antenna has little tension when removing. But as little practice and mechanic's touch moves it just fine. I like the unit.
Pros: nice display. home and car kit included. good FM transmitter. Cons: not durable at all. gets very hot.better units available.
I've had this unit for almost two years. It was a good starter
receiver.I moved it from my car to my home for almost a year but now I can only use it in one place. The power cord broke, the end fell off, I replaced it at radio shack with a standard car adapter. The two connections on the unit are now weak. If I move the unit at all I lose either power or antenna. I guess for $110 two years is not to bad but I wouldn't buy another one.
Not the deal that it appears to be by bkm7270 ,Jan 05 '06
Pros: Everything you need for Home/office or car in one package. Easy to set up. Cons: Everything else. No Remote. No accessories available. Poor sound quality.
Bought it on Dec 4th. by Dec 20th it was failing to get past the Sanyo boot screen. If it Got past the screen, it would most often sit at the "Acquiring Signal" screen until I had to -- You guessed it -- reboot the thing AGAIN.
This was my First Sirius system, so at the time I had nothing to compare it to. Now that I have the Kenwood H2EC, I realize that the sound was horrible, I really like a remote, and how obnoxiously big the unit is.
Piece of crap! Do not buy this!!! sanyo should be ashamed for selling this. by sundevil1125 ,Jul 28 '06
Pros: seemingly low price for your money Cons: Awful radio, poor quality, weak warranty, bulky unit, expensive replacement parts
By far the worst electronic unit (quality wise) I have ever purchased. Service is great product sucks! Warranty is awful and, plain and simple, the product simply doesn't hold up to normal use. It has been 6 months and the unit already needs a $40.00 part. It seems Sanyo has this problem, but they don't want to honor the warranty so they will simply sell you more parts. in the long run, it looks as if I will be into this for over $150.00 in just over 6 months. I so wish that I never bought this radio. Save your money and go with another Sirius radio product. if you don't believe me, I'll sell you mine.
Power adapter failed in 3 months - no warranty coverage by sbipad ,Nov 23 '05
Pros: Nice display. Cons: Power adapter fails and is not covered by warranty after 90 days.
I purchased this unit in early August 2005 and in just over 3 months the power plug into the bottom of the unit has become so loose the unit no longer receives power. Unfortunately, its failure became apparent just past the 90 day warranty. Thats right! The warranty is only 3 months on the power plug at the base of the unit because it is considered an accessory. I highly recommend Sirius satellite radio but would pick a different receiver.
Pros: display. price. Cons: poor mobility, cable and adapter woes. Failed. Siruis Cust service
This unit is sold as a home and car solution. However, the transition process is very cumbersome. You have to unplug each of the cables when you move it. Antenna plug hard to remove and feels like it will break soon. It also has this 3 plug adapter that you have to plug into unit, then you plug in the cables.
The windhshield mount is useless. Way too big and it fell off the first day. If you use it, try the flexible mounts you can buy from aftermarket companies.
Sound seems good. Display is good. Signal strength seems consistent and I like the FM transmitter so I can hear it on multiple radios in the house. $40 is a great price but I think there are better units available now. Lots of retailers do not carry this anymore.
5/11/06- Sure enough. The unit is failing now. Power adapter is the culprit. Called Sirius and they said have to send in entire unit and cables. They wont send a replacement part. We bought direct from Sirius and called them. "got the run-around". In short, skip this unit.
Pros: Easy to read screen, very bright blue. Very good boom box. Cons: Not reliable. Intermittent reception after only two weeks of use.
Sirius satellite radio is wonderful; however, Sanyo CRSR-10 would not receive signal part of the time after only two weeks of use. Receiver is very easy to use and has a very bright and legible screen.
I bought directly from Sirius and the price was very low after rebate. However, the customer has to pay the shipping back to Sirius to exchange it for a replacement unit.
Package from Sirius included a boom box, receiver, home and car kits. Boom box has an excellent sound.
Pros: Nice display, easy to use interface. Cons: Won't work long enough to be worth the pros.
This thing is a world class piece of crap and reminds me of why I stopped buying their products. Mind you it has a decent interface and a nice bright easy to read screen, but the guts are rotten. I bought the first one back last April (05). By May, I returned it to Wally World because it stopped receiving signals. Much the same issues that the others have had. The second one ran until today (January, 06). Now it's playing the, "Signal? What signal?" game. AVOID THIS PRODUCT AT ALL COSTS.
Pros: small, portable, easy to use Cons: Doesn't work after 1 week!
I got the Sanyo CRSR-10 for Christmas and it was great during the 1st week, but now, it's failing more than it's working. It will either go right back to the boot screen and continue to re-boot or it will just lose the signal altogether. I attempted to call Sirius customer support but both times the reps transfered me back into the call queue as soon as they could, pretty bad service.
I'd definitely recommend staying away from this and saving yourself the $ and frustration.
