Pros: Easy Installation. Auto and Manual operating modes. Cons: You have to find the space for it.
The EPSON Perfection 2400 Photo Flatbed Scanner is a scanner that offers more functionality than some of the other scanners I looked at. It will scan not only photographs and other paper images, but also 35mm negatives and slides. In conjunctio ...
Pros: Reliability, versatility, and exceptional quality of scanned copies. Cons: Figuring it all out.
This 2003 Christmas gift is no longer in production--which is the main reason I'm writing this review. In the past I've written glowing reviews on products (mostly electronic) that crashed not so very long after publication. One was an EPSON ...
Pros: Fast, good colour depth and resolution, good for scanning transparencies. Cons: Software rather inflexible.
Reason for purchase I bought the Epson Perfection 2400 as a replacement for a Plustek OpticPro UT12, which had two big problems for me - insufficient colour depth when scanning transparencies, and slow speeds when photocopying. (Also one of the ...
Pros: Speed, impressing images, excellent film and negative scans Cons: No written manual, some minor software misses
Introduction
I had been looking for a simple and easy to use scanner to finally replace my trusty old Phantom E3 for some while. Since I also happen to have a huge collection of old 35 mm slides, I thought that it would be a great...
Pros: Ease of Use, PHD buttons on front console 48bit scanning 35mm adapter included Well built Cons: Adobe photoshop Elements program and only 1 35mm adapter included.
I had to replace my trusty SCSI-2 scanner, and my choices were overwhelming. I chose this scanner for 3 reasons: 1- Price,2-Features,3-Ease of Use. The P.H.D.[Push here Dummy] buttons on the front console for easy operation are also a very convenient ...
Pros: Excellent speed; great negatives handling; high resolution; good OCR software Cons: smart panel software confusing - no comprehensive manual
I wanted a scanner primarily to allow me to send pictures to family and friends, using the Internet. I mean, what could be easier, right? Get your photos developed, save money with only one set, bring them home and decide which ones you want to copy...
Pros: easy setup, easy use, incredible results
for photos AND 35mm negatives Cons: No on/off switch, nowhere to store negative/slide adapter, minor color correcting
Both my wife and I are novice photographers who have countless sleeves of negatives in a box. It was important that the scanner we ended up with could give us superior quality scans from existing photos for printing and digital archiving. I also wanted a...
Pros: Set up quickly. Photoshop Elements is nice in the bundle. Scans are sufficiently good quality. Cons: Software installation was buggy. Documentation weak.
The scanner works as advertised and I am reasonably satisfied. The quality of the scans for both color photos and color 35mm negatives is excellent. I have not tried scanning slides (I do not have any.) The speed of the image transfer is rather...
Pros: Excellent Scanner for those who want to scan 35mm slides. Good value for the money. Cons: Documentation is scanty but no problems so far.
Scanner came with all the software you will need to scan reflective copy and negatives/slides. Have not used the Adobe Photo Shop Elements because I have the Adobe Photo Shop and Paint Shop Pro. Epson Twain interfaces well with MS Word for OCR scanning....
Pros: Ease of use, High resolution, Small size, Epson quality Cons: Negative holder that holds negs off glass
I have only had this scanner for about a week now and have been scouring my negative collection to get everything I can scanned in. All I can say is "wow!" I never expected this kind of resolution for only the $50 I spent on eBay for this baby. I've ...
Pros: Automatic recognition & scanning for material being scanned Cons: Bundled software only works in Mac OS 9 environment
I haven't used a scanner in about 5 years, and decided to purchase one recently and chose this model. Firstly, before a Mac OS X user can even use the scanner, one needs to first download the appropriate driver from Epson's website (www.epson.com) as the ...
Pros: Value, Ease of Use, 2400 dpi Optical Resolution Cons: New Driver (Epson Scan) Needs A Little Work
I had this scanner for a few days now and so far it is working very well for me. I used and owned HP, Epson 1660, and just before this one, a Canon LiDE 20 scanner. The Canon LiDE 20 is a USB powered (no power cord) small scanner which worked well but i ...
Epson Perfection 2400 is perfect by tonybates ,Feb 04 '04
Pros: Easy to set up and use, software is great, price is right. Cons: None that I can see so far.
I bought the scanner to scan in slides that have been sitting in my closet for a thousand years. When I was in my 20's I was into photography and have some great shots, especially for on top of the World Trade Center. I scanned the slides in, which I hadn't seen for about 15 years, and they are as beautiful as I remember.
The scanner was easy to set up and use, and the software is foolproof. You can choose from many different resolutions, so you can have prints made in large sizes with no degradation in quality.

Pros: Feature that removes half tone dots Cons: Skimpy printed manual. I have a difficult time reading text on screen.
I got an Epson Perfection 2400 last August and immediately used it to scan photos from previously printed material. The feature that allows the removal of half tone dots was very useful. I scanned about 3,000 images at 600DPI and 300DPI and all came out fine.
I've used it to copy transparencies and, for my purpose, the pictures and color turned out very well.
I installed it on a P4 running on Windows ME.
Very satisfying purchase.
