Schecter Diamond C-1+: No Diamond in the Rough Here

by buffoonery buffoonery is a Top Reviewer on Epinions in Musical Instruments, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Jul 21 '07
Pros: Attractively priced and playable rocker's guitar
Cons: No collectibilty, pickups may sound muddy
It’s pretty hard to miss a Schecter guitar if read the guitar mags or hang around the big box stores like I do. They’re everywhere, in the ad pages, hanging on the walls, walking out the doors in the arms of tattooed 16-year olds who can’t ...

Solid, tone-rich guitar

by cygnusx106 , Jul 11 '02
Pros: Beautiful, well made, String through design, great value.
Cons: Big frets cause thin strings to pitch bend, painted neck can get slightly sticky
I first began looking at ESP guitars, but when i found out that ESP and Schecter guitars are made by the same parent company I decided to go with the Schecter.... and i was not disappointed. The C1 plus is a beautiful guitar, the shape is a...

Looks good in the store but it won't last

by ispeedonthe405 , Mar 09 '08
Pros: Fretwork and finish are still fine
Cons: Rapid deterioration, most notably in the neck
I've been playing for 20 years and I've had my "Diamond" C1+ for a few now. I'm not sure if it was '03 or '04 when I bought it. The tone control does not have the coil-split function, if that helps narrow it down. I guess they added that later. The ...

Perfect sound perfect price

by sevens77 , Mar 19 '06
Pros: Sounds awesome, great tone, awesome sustain, superior design and beautiful!
Cons: None of any consequence, mostly personal feel.
I bought the Schecter C1-Plus after searching high and low for a guitar in it's price range. I looked at everything from a Jimme Vaughn Tex-Mex Strat to a Paul Reed Smith SE Custom. I played at least 25 different guitars ranging from Ibanez to Washburn ...

A great sounding quality piece

by haulasshyena , Jul 11 '04
Pros: Feel, neck through, coil select
Cons: faux Seymore Duncans, inability to stay tuned
I have only been playing guitar for about 1.5 years and I wanted a switch from my Yamaha Pacifica after about .5 years. I played every guitar in Guitar Center and a few other stores. I was ready to buy the ESP guitar that Stephen Carpenter plays until I ...

The C1 Plus is awesome

by chazdog1 , Dec 25 '02
Pros: Great guitar, a steal at this price!
Cons: Sometimes it doesn't hold tune
Ok...here was my problem. I had $3000, just enough to buy the guitar of my dreams - a PRS McCarty. BUT, I also wanted to get into recording a little bit. What do I do? Compromise. This is where the Schecter C-1 Plus came in. I walked into my local guitar...

Schecter C1+Floyd Rose & C1 Classic

by reflexionz , Sep 09 '04
Pros: Fantastic sound, Good solid Hardware, Well Built Guitars
Cons: Still not yet found any!!!
As I'm a lefty its difficult to be able to walk into a shop and try anything other than a LH Strat or Tele. I was amazed whilst visiting a music store to find a large number of LH Schecters. I tried the C1+FR and C1 Classic and instantly fell in love ...

Beautiful rich tone and looks
by raise-the-fist ,Dec 26 '05
Pros: Beautiful looking, solid sound, duncan pickups
Cons: sometimes goes out of tune to much, action could be better
i bought this guitar a week ago for $425 new. I got it so cheap because someone must have dropped something on the lower horn caused a VERY small nick. But hey for that price who could say no. So i got it. I was going to save up for a much more expensive guitar but for the price this schecter is well worth it.
