600 has been my main phone. I am happy to confirm that it has lived up to all it's hype. Even with the known issues such as lack of bluetooth & WiFi, poor resolution LCD display, etc etc, I ...
Pros: Integration: one device does everything! And does it well indeed. Cons: Some ergonomy and functionality quirks. Screen easy to crack, and $700 to replace.
The Siemens SX66 represents yet another step towards delivering the ultimate mobile workstation. It fuses a full-featured world phone combined with a top notch PDA. I have a long and venerable history with PDAs. Early Apple Newton adopter. Then 2 ...
Pros: Usable Features, Speed, Applications that are available Cons: Speakerphone not being loud enough. No EDGE.
Having the need for a PDA/phone device now in my life has lead me to the Siemens SX66 from Cingular Wireless. For people who are always in need of being constantly connected to the internet either by using e-mail, Instant Messages, weather, stocks, ...
Pros: Powerful hand-held computing, and very good phone Cons: Physical battery retention iffy (mine came off), pricey, no EDGE
This PDA does lots of phone stuff well. I added MS voice command, and now it's nothing short of amazing. With this software (which is speaker-independent, thus needing no training), you can voice dial any number (contact+phone number type) using your ...
Pros: Always-on internet via WiFi, GPRS, or Bluetooth. IM, browsing, email, VoIP, mp3s, movies, games, etc. Cons: Pocket PC means instability, don't expect to receive every call, resets are frequent. No camera.
I absolutely love this thing. It has changed my life. Convergence is a beautiful thing. To have the entire internet in the palm of your hand, anywhere you are, is truly amazing. I can do almost everything on this thing that I can do on my laptop. ...
Pros: Virtually every feature you can imagine, from WIFI, Pocket PC organizer, Bluetooth, etc. Cons: Big and heavy. Keyboard not good if you type a lot. Software slow.
I did not like this device for several reasons: 1) It's big. I am looking for a phone/PDA ala the Treo. This device is significantly bigger than the Treo. It's all about expectations, and so if you are looking to replace a laptop you'll be happy ...
Pros: WiFi, recognizing regular cursive writing, loud speaker, infra-red beaming, bluetooth, vivid colors, sim card. Cons: Voice quality, does not beam categories, no LCD and no short cuts for main functions
I love my new Siemens SX66, yet I hate it. I have had my phone for one month now and I cannot make up my mind if I should return it and cancel my service with Cingular or keep it and enjoy the pleasures of technology. I am a Realtor so all the ...
LCD is NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY - $175 to repair. by shuttle1 ,Dec 12 '05
Pros: I Love this PDA Phone! Cons: LCD is NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY
I've had my Siemens SX66 since August 2005 (this is now December 2005).
The LCD on my PDA phone cracked after just 35 days of use.
NO, I didn't drop it or step on it. I don't know how or why it cracked.
The only thing I can think of is I may have had it on my hip in the leather holster that comes with it and leaned against something.
CRACKED LCD IS NOT COVERED BY ANY WARRANTY.
Once the LCD is cracked you can't make phone calls, or do much else with the PDA for that matter. (You can still answer incoming calls).
It cost me $175 to send to Siemens to have LCD replaced.
I still love the phone.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you buy the aluminum protective case for it, rather than using the leather holster provided.
Pros: Awesome functionality. Cons: Slippery to hold on to and delicate if dropped.
Amazing functionality. You'll grow to depend on it. I grew to depend on it, which is why I had to purchase a 2nd one after I dropped mine just a few feet above the ground and it split in two pieces. Don't drop it and keep a close grip on it, the surface has no natural grip to it.
1500mAh Li-Polymer Battery for Siemens SX66 High Quality, high capacity, light weight rechargeable battery. Longer battery life than the original battery that comes with the smartphone. ...
