Pros: Small size, doubles as web cam and audio recorder Cons: Consumes batteries fast, Can loose photos, Goes crazy for no reason, completely dies out
This is probably the worst investment I ever made. I bought this on ebay for $35 (brand new) since it looked like a good deal. The camera first worked great, plugged in, the driver installation required a restart, but seemed to work well. The camera ...

Pros: Cheap price Cons: Almost everything else
Fortunately, I was given this camera as a gift. The bad news is what the giver thought would be a nice gift turned out to be relatively useless and they are the one's out the money. The images my camera takes, look like they've been taken with ...

SiPix StyleCam Deluxe
by dovecat ,Jan 20 '04
Pros: Price, small size, simple to use Cons: Poor image quality, no removable media
I bought this camera to use as a webcam/back-up digcam. As a webcam the image is dark and often out of focus. As a digcam it is much better than my cellphone camera, but can't hold up to my old 1.6 Olympus. The fixed focus f=10.3mm F3.0 lens is limiting and lacks crispness. On outdoor photography the pictures lack brightness and the colors are yellowish.
Final thoughts. If price is your main concern, this camera would provide digital images at a low price.

I'm from Holland.
What i find good about it is that it's small, you can set ot to 10sec timer and then your picture will be taken but that's all.
I both the Stycam Deluxe and i have to say that:
1. In the back you see a display that is only to choos options and NOT seeing the picture's.
2. When you use the flash, it uses almost all the batery so after 6 a 7 picture it wil automaticly stop flash! :(
3. The usb Is absolutly bad! when you install it it will be great but when you start your pc again try then! It is not working.
4. You only have 16 MB and you can not upgrade it. I open it and it is propt inside the chip and there is no place to add more!
It is absoluutly not worth your money.

I bought the SiPix on sale at a store, because of the features and it saying it did 1280 x 1024 res. The true is it is really grainy. I took some pictures to test it and about the 20th picture(in Fine mode)the flash quit working. It doesn't say anywhere that you need to replace the batteries after 30 pictures, but you do.
Just remember the old saying, "you get what you pay for." I say spend $100 more and get a 3 megapixal one.
