Pros: Bright Display, great performance, affordable and more. Cons: Small touch pad, short of peripheral ports.
When looking for laptops, many people had no clear direction for a laptop. But for those that have a very clear direction, but don't really want to pay for a Dell, because they we're too costly to buy in the first place, Gateway is the alternative for...
Pros: Nice machine when it works. Cons: Can't get the company to honor their warranty.
How much would you pay for a laptop that's good and dependable? 1000$ ? Nah! You want one that has a good company to back it right? Sure. One of which you know you can get service? A name brand company? Of course. A good name brand company would ...
Pros: INEXPENSIVE!!! Nice Design, good customer service. Paid less then I was suppose too. Cons: Battery life
My sister and I had been sharing a computer that our mom had bought us since middle school. As I grew up and became more of a computer nerd, I often hogged the computer and argued with my Sis over who gets to use the computer.
Pros: Great value, good display, keyboard has many functions, good system for the price Cons: short battery life, slightly quiet speakers, pointing device
The Gateway Solo 1450 is a great buy for someone who needs a good computer, with good specs, for a good price. This computer is like any other Gateway model, you get what you pay for. The price is great and the computer works and preforms good.

Pros: Great price. Lots of extras. Huge hard drive. Cons: None.
I love this laptop! I was always told to avoid Gateway systems, but after purchasing this system, I am now recommending Gateways to everyone I know who is in the market for a new computer!
I bought this system directly from Gateway. Online...
Pros: Affordable, Reliable, Tough. Cons: Needs more Peripheral ports and Infrared
When I started college, I discovered that my major required a laptop that met certain minimum specifications. The school's website listed several computer manufacturers that were recommended by our ITS department. Gateway was not listed as one of them....
Pros: None really. Just like any other laptop except has a CDRW Cons: Bad Support...breaks down every 3 months
How much would you pay for a laptop that's good and dependable? This one started going out just after the year warranty was up and only worked 3 months after the repair. I liked the features of the notebook, but what good are they if it only works for ...
Pros: Cheap...cheap....and cheap! Cons: Cheap...laden with problems.
Do not, I repeat do not waste your hard earned dough on this machine. I bought mine direct via the internet from Gateway and it arrived with a jammed CD tray door. About four months later the keyboard's "m" key and space bar stopped working completely....
Pros: Inexpensive, free carrying case, long battery life...etc Cons: not much..maybe a bit heavy @ 6.5 lbs
I bought this laptop the week i entered college. I opened it and i was amazed at the huge screen...and what a beautiful screen. the pointing device is a state-of-the-art touchpad which is so easy to use. The Operating System, Windows XP, is the hybrid...
Pros: Very Fast for the price paid - $829
Brilliant Screen
Comes with DVD Cons: Horrible Battery Life
I bought this laptop from Gateway.com for $829. Setup was a breeze. All I had to do was plug it, enter some simple data inorder to setup XP and VIOLA, it worked. Now, lets talk about performance. The 1450 easily keeps up with NFS4:HS when played with...
Gateway Solo is it worth it? by marcus-d22 ,Dec 28 '06
Pros: Good for people who rarely uses the computer Cons: Not practical for a person who uses the laptop for a lot of uses
Gateway Solo laptop ain't all that great of a computer compared to the new models created. Gateway Solo doesn't have all the glamourous extras like a video card and a CD or DVD player. These features may be very frustrating for a person who uses a lot of updated software. Just like many other laptops the Gateway Solo can't be upgraded. This computer is really meant for someone who doesn't need the computer a lot and doesn't use it much. I only recommend the product to people who rarely use the computer. As a whole it isn't that advanced or innovative compared to the new technology and computers coming out.
Still running great since October 2002, almost 5 years now! by thompsons747 ,May 21 '07
Pros: Great notebook, nice screen, durable, reliable. Cons: Could probably have some better battery life.
I bought this Gateway Solo 1450 new in October 2002. What a little champ! I use a wireless keyboard and mouse because I type tons every day (do it for a living). It has 1.33 ghz processor, 30 gig hard drive, CDRW/DVD combo drive, floppy drive, and wireless card slot, 2 USB ports. Up until this year I only had 256k ram, but recently added another 256k for a total of 512k. My main uses are Word, Excel, Quicken, Outlook, web browsing, and photos. I also have a program I use for my hobby, which is genealogy. I have been on this computer probably 10 to 12 hours a day every day since I've owned it. I am not even good at cleaning it and stuff. It has stood the test of time!
