Good For Running

by lindseyjbug , Nov 30 '05
Pros: Light, Portable, Good Controls, Good headphones
Cons: Doesn't hold many songs, Uses regular batteries (no charger)
I now have an iPod, which I do recommend if you want better sound quality and more songs with you... but the Rio Chiba is for those of us who don't want to spend over $50 and still have a decent player. I got this Mp3 player last February and it still ...

Small, easy to use, expandable.

by gamercubed , Sep 22 '04
Pros: Small size, simple operation, SD memory expansion option, efficient power usage, good FM reception.
Cons: Somewhat flimsy buttons, cheap headphones.
Though I already own an mp3 player (see review h ere), I have finally become better at exercising at my university (Texas A&M) rec center, so I decided it'd be cool to have an mp3 player that I could run with. I didn't ...

The low-cost, convenient, modern answer to the Walkman

by bluevellet , Jun 29 '04
Pros: FM tuner, sound quality, battery life, PC software, options, memory upgrades, size and weight
Cons: earphones, corrupt files, No AM tuner, could be a bit cheaper, flimsy navigation button
After my old Walkman broke down, I've begun looking for an alternative to listen to music on the go. I briefly considered a CD player with MP3 playback abilities, but no matter how I looked at it, CD skipping and the bulkiness of all CD players made me ...

Great expandeable player
by slntr ,Dec 02 '04
Pros: Lightweight and small, belt clip, radio tuner, stop watch, volume is good.
Cons: No voice recorder and battery cover comes off to easily (fixed with included belt clip)
As a 128 mb player this is ok, but what makes it shine is the ability to upgrade the memory with SD/MMC without any limit. This makes the unit price worth while. I would recommend this is you are out for a 512mb to 1.2 GB player at a good price especially with the price of SD memory falling. It ends up cheaper buying this unit rather than a full 1.5 GB player

Couple of nice features that people may not realize is the fact that it comes with AAA batteries instead of built in rechageable battery. This is a problem with other units as the player becomes useless once the battery is gone (couple of years).

Another greeat thing is that you can copy and paste files in Windows XP without the need of installing the native RIO software.

A cool Mp3 player
by halo4life00 ,Aug 26 '04
Pros: battery life, backlight, program, small, easy to use, belt clip
Cons: screen is small, earphones.
I got this free from Napster so I'm assuming it's same as the one from the store. I took it out and it was easy to set-up. I plugged it in and installed the program which is an easier program that the manager that comes with the RCA LYRA. I easily downloaded songs and started playing them. The head phones are O.K. no biggy, but invest in buying good quality decent headphones if it's in the budget. The backlight is very good but the screen is alittle small, it could of been a little bigger. The battery also lasts for a decent time too. I love the FM tuner although sometimes I cant get certain stations. You can change the equalizer in every bit from the bass to treble just like windows media player (for those who use it) to how you want it. The clock is useless because once you change the batteries the time resets and you have to set it again. I have no major problems with it and would recommend it to anyone looking for an mp3.

Budget MP3 Player
by ike301 ,Dec 22 '03
Pros: cheap, small, easy to use, backlight screen
Cons: ear buds suck.
I was in the market for something cheap, lightweight, and easy to use for the gym and for snowboarding.

The CHIBA works perfect for me.

-I bought it for 110 at bestbuy (after $20 rebate)
-lightweight
-small, fits in palm of hand
-software easy to use
-expandable up to 640MB (+-150 songs)
-stop watch

So far so good. Feels very sturdy, and light enough to drop without any damage.
