Pros: Connectivity galore; Great Styling; Lighted QWERTY Keyboard; HotSync Cons: Low resolution camera--should have been left off. PRICE IS TOO HIGH!
I love gadgets and I think Sony makes some of the best. Ive been shopping for an all-in-one system that will provide entertainment while allowing my college-bound son to do school work on it as well. During this search I came across this unitit ...
For over a month Ive kept my UX50 in constant dominion and control. Ive been watching music videos of Beyoncé and Genuwine, listening to Simon & Garfunkel, using the Internet, taking pictures, recording movies, making voice notes and ...
Pros: TWO forms of wireles connectivity should have you covered. Sturdy. Light. Very pocketable. Cons: Software shows off hardware with mixed results. More landscape support needed.
The UX50 The UX50 was a looker from the moment Sony unveiled this device in a Japanese press conference towards the beginning of the summer. Eschewing the more traditional sensibilities of the Palm lineup and Sony's own previous Clies, I was happy to ...
Pros: Usable keyboard, WiFi, Bluetooth Cons: Battery life, battery life.
It's hard to write a balanced review of this product when, for me, it has both plus points and drawbacks and they are polar opposites. Let me start by saying that this unit was second-hand, albeit a factory refurb from SONY (at least that's what ...
Pros: Wireless, Size, Style, Massive Functions, Nothing like it! Cons: Some anoying functions, NO MAC COMPATIBILITY!!!!
Wow, where do I start? When I really started looking for a PDA about 5 years ago, I came across the HP Jornada series which included keyboards and a clamshell style. Over the following years, the clamshell style PDA died out. I was so disssapointed a ...
Pros: Excellent connectivity, small and light form factor. Cons: No screen rotation software included, bad cradle design.
I figure since most people who are looking at Clie UX-50 would also consider NX80V, I will write a comparison review on it to save you some time. I personally own three different Sony Clie models: UX50, NX80V, and NR70. So I think I am in a good ...
Pros: Keyboard, Camera (still photos and video), scroll function, bluetooth/wireless LAN. Excellent Battery. Cons: Screen size, No Portrait screen mode, No USB cradle, Heavily restricted MP3 player, Video Sync.
Just purchased the UX-50 last week and at first glance I was quite impressed. The camera is an excellent feature, with surprisingly great quality (for both photo and video). There are some other good features including the voice recorder (which doesn't ...
Pros: Small, fast, lots of extras (mp3, voice record, camera, IR, WiFi), very cute. Cons: Battery life (some applications), non-palm-standard 3 hard buttons, dim display in daylight.
Before buying this Clie, I did 2 weeks of solid research comparing all Tunstens, Clie, and Pocket PCs. The requirements were simple: Small, lightweight, hi-res, colour, audio, media slot (compatible with any digital camera I was also going to buy). So ...
Pros: Screen. Amount of cool things it can do, video, pictures, keyboard Cons: Battery life. Battery life. Pen slides out too easily.
Let me start with an aside that reawakened my love for my UX-50. I just bought the PEGA-VR100K today. Great rep at a Sony store here in Winnipeg found one for me. Told me that it was 499 CND. I kind of laughed and said "after taxes that would be ...
Pros: QWERTY keyboard, fun accessories, landscape screen (big plus for web), easy for newbies to learn. Cons: Very expensive purchase price, need to add lots of third-party software for full functionality.
One of the primary criteria I had in purchasing a PDA was a QWERTY keyboard. I did not want to learn graffiti or similar handscripting input methods. I also knew that I needed wireless connectivity, because many of the meetings I attend occur near ...
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous, camcorder/camera/MP3 player plus all the usual pda stuff, bluetooth AND wifi. Cons: the price!
I spent months searching for the right PDA before stumbling upon this clie. Even then, it was somewhat difficult to obtain (had to be ordered in - although I could have avoided this by purchasing it online). The features I love are as follows: 1. ...
Pros: excellent product, well built, feature rich Cons: sony is getting out of the PDA market
This PDA is a very well built unit. I have nothing but positive comments for the actual hardware. The case is rigid in design and seems to very durable. The keyboard is small, yet functional. Backlit keys are a nice touch. The one concern I have is ...
Pros: Size, design, WiFi, Bluetooth, video playback, MP3 Player, finally a PDA thats got it all. Cons: Size, Quick launch buttons in bad location, no ext voice recorder button, low res camera
Arrived this morning. It is awesome. Video playback looks very nice. No external button to record voice notes, which is a mistake, you have to launch the app to record audio.
The quick launch buttons are in an odd place, when the screen is flipped, I constantly launch applications by accident....what a pain.
The screen is very small, but within minutes of opening the box I was surfing the web....looks great (though a bit hard to read).
Overall I would rate this unit very high, but I am just getting started.
The battery seems to run out of gas faster than Sony claims.
The camera is nice, but lacks the higher resolution of previous models, and no light.
