  • Really Good CD/MP3 Player!

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Sep 18, 2005
Pros: Long Battery Life, Excellent Sound Quality and Skip-free.
Cons: LCD characters are very small to read. No Backlight.

Summary: I got this model D-NE300 on clearance at Circuit City for $40 and boy, I was lucky to have bought it. I like listening to music a lot and with all the small players out there, I still prefer ones based on CDs be it MP3-capable or not because MP3s ... read more

  • Sound That Rivals Component CD Players from a Portable

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Jan 10, 2006
Pros: Excellent, accurate sound that beats component CD and DVD players. Nice display, MP3's a bonus.
Cons: A beep that sounds every time you push a buton.

Summary: Introduction I have owned this Discman for a little more than a year. I am probably an atypical user because I don't often use it as a portable player (though I have brought it on one or two plane trips). I bought the D-NE300 because it's ... read more

  • Think I might return this

Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community

Pros: I'm sure it's quite rugged and reliable, but I only got it this afternoon.
Cons: Excessive motor noise, no line out, evil beeps, wimpy output.

Summary: Disappointed. Like so much Sony gear, it's physically noisy, making even stranger whirring noises than my minidisc player. It beeps. At least you can turn the beep off - but will it stay off when I change the batteries? Why would anyone want these beeps? ... read more

  • Quite simply the best Discman available

Rated a Helpful Review by the Epinions community
    Feb 21, 2005
Pros: extreme durability, battery life, sound quality, format options
    Cons: honestly nothing worth mentioning

Summary: This discman is quite simply the greatest Discman available. I have dropped this thing a good half dozen times on concrete and it works like nothing happened. I have busted several Discmen after just one drop so I am highly impressed with this thing. ... read more

Pros: Battery life, practical - has features expected for a portable
Cons: seems fragile, mp3 next-song advance sometimes slow and noisy (laser lens motor), no charger built-in

Summary: I was very leary of purchasing an mp3/cd player. The reasons were due to the lack of features I had come accustomed to with regular cd's and cassettes. When DVD players came out with mp3 support I thought I was in heaven. However I found out that the ... read more

  • Best Value Award!

Pros: Customizable Options; Great anti-skip protection; LONG battery life; Resumes mid-track for audio books
Cons: Display is a little small and not backlit

Summary: I bought this when it first came out and there were NO reviews on Epinions, Amazon, or anywhere else that I could find, so I just took the "plunge". I have just read all of the reviews for the D-NE300 (which I use), D-NF400 (which I bought for my ... read more

Pros: Great sound, features, battery life, anti skip, MP3 capable.
Cons: The ATRAC3PLUS software is horrible

Summary: I bought the Sony D-NE300 a few months ago after my Sony D-EJ100 started scraping my cd's and I needed MP3 cpaabilities, so I picked up this one. I really like Sony portable cd players because the sound quality is excellent, and there products have great ... read more

Pros: great looks, amazing display, best sound quality, undying battery, SIMPLY SONY.
Cons: software sucks, interface is irritating, long time to create mp3 c.d.

Summary: There is a contradiction that I found in one of the previous reviews that I wanted to correct. This player comes with a hold button at the back, which if engaged prevents accidental pressing of buttons. Sound Quality was of utmost importance to me

  • GREATEST CD PLAYER EVER OWNED

    Jan 5, 2005
Pros: Durable , can fit tons of songs, can serve purpose or replace mp3 player
Cons: really cant think of any

Summary: Absoultly great cd player. Since the songs get shrunk down u can fit so much music on a cd!!! I use a cd-rw so i can keep adding songs to my cd(rewritable) its aweeesome!!! doing it that way serves the same purpose as a mp3 player except its much much

  • Wins competition over my best CD player

    Aug 4, 2004
Pros: GOOD battery life, durable build, sounds great, ID3 tagging
Cons: Takes a little while for the player to read all the mp3s on my disc

Summary: Let me tell you about that best CD player ever. It was a old Aiwa, model number XP-EV501R. It had the best sound ever and had incredible bass....I mean incredible. I decided that my Aiwa was getting really old and despite that, it had a lot of

Pros: Standard Sony quality, sound is good
    Cons: No cool features

Summary: Well, I pretty much got what I expected for sixty bucks. While I didn't get a bunch of cool features like extra bass, shuffle, or repeat, I got standard Sony quality. These days you expect your cd player to be durable, read through some pretty tough

  • Pretty cool

    May 1, 2004
    Pros: Tons of songs!
    Cons: Slow problematic software.

Summary: This is a pretty cool unit as it can fit tons of music. Nice if you have a lot of CDs to condense down to take with you anywhere you wish. It comes with it's own proprietary SonicStage software for creating ATRAC3 and ATRAC3Plus music files. Very very
