Its a Sony
by blank_point ,Mar 17 '07
Pros: Easy to use, Cheap, good battery life Cons: Bulky
Its an easy to use camera...typical sony gadget. You get your value for money.
Its slightly older model for the tech savy people, but a very handy and comfortable model for first timers. The multi-burst imaging is useful for budding sports-persons who want to analyse their actions

Great camera for students!
by valencia2484 ,Mar 14 '05
Pros: Reasonable price, great photo quality, easy to use, comes with rechargable batteries and a charger Cons: Camera is heavy, sound for video is fuzzy. uhhh, not much more I don't like
I absolutely love this camera! I use it at least once a week to take pictures of my friends and sorority sisters. I got it because the price was reasonable and the 4.1 mega pixels and 3x optical zoom were great features. I also got a free memory card. Basically, all the feature are easy to figure out and remember how to use. I didn't buy it for the video feature, but I've used it quite often.
I have always trusted the Sony brand name, and this camera has lived up to my expectations.

Excellent all-around
by jtf4 ,May 18 '06
Pros: Pocketable and provides quality resolution images. Cons: Battery life, BUT it works with any AA battery.
Having used a wide variety of cameras for many years, I have found this to be a super "take-along" camera which produces quality images. Take the time to study the manual and find what the camera can really do -- it is a great performer!

It was a great camera, while it worked! :-(
by bmwroadster ,Dec 16 '05
Pros: Easy to use. Great picture quality Cons: Not durable, a bit bulky, would like more zoom power.
This was my second digital camera from Sony and loved it. However, after owning it for four months, it stopped working properly. The images on the LCD and .jpg files were now overexposed and the power kept shutting off after only being on for a few seconds. Hopefully Sony will make goo on their warranty and fix it for me without any hassles.

A great budget digicam
by clessrv ,Feb 19 '06
Pros: Great function, especially love the burst function Cons: A rather large size for a small user like me
I had it for a year now and it's still working great and for a 4.1 megapixel camera, its price is very affordable for budget user.

Old design but great value for the money
by docrwm ,Jun 25 '05
Pros: Good pictures, fast shutter, LOW price Cons: Point-and_shoot - minimum adjustments for a pro
This is a 4.1 megapixel camera - that's a bit low these days in comparison to the new 6-10 megapixel cameras available. But for point-and-shoot snap-shots this is a terrific camera. Its replacing a Canon A70 that just plain broke for no reason (and was S-L-O-W to focus and take photos). The Sony is fast, takes consistently better photos (even on equivalent 3 mega setting) and uses fewer batteries. It comes with two rechargeable batteries and a recharger (never had that with any other digital camera I purchased).
The best part is I got it for $129 new!

Disappointed
by graham123 ,Feb 22 '05
Pros: photos not bad - but not exceptional. Cons: See above - an expensive mistake.
The camera just died on me after less than three years and very little use. I paid 38 Euros to have the camera looked at to be told that I need a new chip (140 Euros) and possibly more. I'm cutting my losses and will buy a new camera.
I thought I could expect more (much more) in terms of reliability from Sony.

Great camera for the price
by xtrem_18 ,Nov 01 '05
Pros: Has many options Cons: Decline in value so fast
I got this camera for christmas. Clear pictures, has quite a bit of options, fun overall. There many things you can buy with this camera also, like lenses, stands, memory cards, there is even a marine package! I LOVE THIS CAMERA!!

Nice for family pics
by proctor7373 ,Nov 18 '04
Pros: Quick and easy to print pics with card. Cons: focus, shutter speed, need more memory.
This camera is great if you just want to shoot some kids at a party or get some pics of your dog. If you are looking to take an award winning shot of the Grand Canyon, you are not looking for this camera. It has a bunch of extra stuff on it, but I don't use them. I think the shutter speed can be adjusted to go faster, it doesn't always focus which probably can also be adjusted, and the digital zoom after the other zoom, is usually useless. I really like the camera for the $ and it's great to take to Walmart and print the pics, though. I have talked several people into buying the camera and they also seem to like it.

sony dscp73
by monte4 ,Jul 09 '06
Pros: easy to use and comes with everything you need Cons: none
we got this camera about 6 months ago. I love it!!! I use it everyday. It comes with the battery charger and the rechargable batteries. You dont have to buy anything extra unless you want a bigger memory stick. We had a cheap kodak at first this one blew us away. it takes pictures in black and white and sepia and it records video like a mini camcorder. i highly recommend this camera.

Great Point & Shoot for Anyone!
by emnrachsmom ,Sep 05 '04
Pros: Easy to use, lightweight, not terribly expensive, lasting batteries Cons: None!
I did a lot of research before I decided on the P73. I'm glad I bought it! This has been one of the best point & shoot digital camera's I have had. It has GREAT picture quality and is easy to use.
Some of the other reviews I've read I see that the advanced users aren't big on it, but hey, this is NOT an SLR. This is for the average user.
This take great pics (we have a 128 card for it that we also use with our TRV-27 camcorder) and we can take 84 pics at the highest resolution. It makes EXCELLENT pics in large sizes (even over 11 X 14!) The LCD screen is kind of small, but you can easily get around that - there is a zoom feature to zoom in on the pics you have taken.
I love that this is lightweight, and small, and fits virtually anywhere. The rechargeable batteries last FOREVER!
I highly recommend this camera to anyone!
