Pros: Easy to set up and use. Cons: Another remote to keep track of.
Okay, I was a bit worried about writing reviews on any of our DVD players since I am not really sure what all the bells and whistles are, let alone how they work! To tell you the truth, my children can (and do) use all the different features our ...
Pros: Fully featured for a budget DVD player, Sony quality, nice quasi-universal remote Cons: Black levels are too high (and keeps resetting), remote buttons not too convienent
Sony has set the standard for many consumer audio/visual electronics. Then it was the same for DVDs. At $129, I picked up the NS725P for it's progressive scan capability, and the ability to play DVD+ and - R/Ws. MP3 playback was a nice touch, but seeme ...
The Sony DVP-NS725P is one of the more expensive DVD players that I've been trying out. I saw this baby for $130 at Best Buy, and it caught my eye with the sexy silver finish, the features, and of course... and most obviously, the incredible Sony ...
Pros: sleek look, nice sound, intuitive interface Cons: poor picture and player performance, not enough functionality options
Stay away from this horrible offering from Sony. I purchased this based on the performance of my older sony dvd player (which is still working like a charm),but their quality has come way down. I once belonged to the cult of followers that outfitted ...
Pros: Plays just about everything; great array of features Cons: Progressive scan mode is flat busted
Sony almost had a GREAT product that I could recommend wholeheartedly. Almost. As it is, I find myself extremely disappointed with its progressive-scan mode -- that function which is supposed to get rid of the interlaced jitter of the NTSC signal and ...
Pros: Outstanding progressive video quality. Fast disc spin-up and access. Small size. Great looks. Cons: Lack of zoom. Remote is a little confusing.
After reading CNET's review about this DVD player, I am convinced that either they are unfairly biased, have a defective model, or simply have no idea what they're talking about most of the time. They note that this DVD player is good except the progress ...
Pros: picture quality, ease of use, reliability Cons: high grade cables required, does not compare to DVI DVD
The picture quality of Sony DVPNS725P is better then SONY DVP-NS425P in 480i & 480p mode. No distortion or blurring is found even w/o the progressive scan, just a little gritty. Once you turn on progression scan the picture clears up. Sony DVPNS725P ...
Pros: Coax & optical digital outs; Plays DVD-R, DVD_R/RW, CD-R/RW; Quick loading; Quick layer change; Picture Cons: Silver color (I like black); power cord is not removable
I bought this to replace an older Sony player that I had. Only reason for replacing that one was to get one that could handle my CD-R discs. Well, I couldn't be happier with this gem of a DVD player. First of all, I got it as an open box at Circuit ...
Pros: It's all about that 12Bit/108MHz DAC baby. Sound is awesome also. Cons: None so far...will update if need be.
I had a Toshiba SD-4900, and it looked good on my RCA 52" HDTV, most movies did. However, all that changed when I popped in Star Wars Episode II. Was that ever a horrible experience (and YES, I have good component cables and running progressive scan, ...
Pros: slim, good quality, reasonable price, reliable sony name, wonderful picture! Cons: silver color, no back lit remote.
I recently purchased the Sony DVP-NS725P from circuit city. I was looking for a good quality dvd player that wasnt super expensive to add to my growing mid level home theater. This player has everything i needed. The first thing you will notice is the ...
Pros: The look, finish, color. Cons: non intuitive cheap remote,
Well....Im not sure how much of an improvement there was over my older non progressive scan dvd player...but there was a difference if slightly. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being all out best picture quality with ideal setup and conditions, my old non ...
My DVPNS725P just bit the dust by bjewett ,May 01 '07
Pros: Flexible in playing DVDs that another player would not. Cons: Unit appears to be failing.
I've had this DVD player maybe... 1.5 years tops? It worked great - read DVDs that others wouldn't - until it didn't. It started freezing partway through while playing a DVD. Some of these DVDs are pretty dirty but ... this is happening often now, and this is a DVD player, not a VCR. I think it is toast. I'm getting a new player, and it will be a different brand. I don't know what else, though - while it worked it was fine.
