Sony Grand WEGA KDF-60XBR950 60 in. HDTV LCD TV

Pros: Life-like picture, great sound.
Cons: No cons - after three years!

Whenever my brother comes to visit to watch a football/baseball game, he never fails to be awe-struck by the life-like clarity and life-size image . . it's like being on the field.

While my wife and I have gotten used to such praise for our Sony 60" LCD, even after 3 years we still enjoy it as though we had just gotten it. We use it everyday, watching everything from the news to our favorite shows to movies in HDTV. Also, the sound is fantastic, even without my audio system turned on.

We paid $5,500 at the time, and feel every penny has been rewarded. There has not been a thing that has gone wrong. Again, we watch this TV for hours every day, and, unlike another reviewer, have never had to replace a bulb (or anything else).

Pros: great picture, but not worth the reliability problems

great picture, but it comes at the price of having to replace the projection bulb every 8 months . . . at the tune of $400 per replacement. if I had to do over again, I would not purchase this TV for this one simple issue. And of course it's not covered on any of their warranties. we purchased a Panasonic flat tv in another room at the same time we purchased the Sony. We've had 5 service calls on the Sony, and not one on the Panasonic. Even though you might be wooed by the great picture on the show room floor, be prepared to buy lots of replacement bulbs and shelling out money each year just to keep it working.

THE SONY GRAND WEGA KDF-60XBR950 VIDEO AND AUDIO QUALITY IS AWESOME.THE FEATURES INCLUDE SURROUND SOUND AND PICTURE WITHIN A PICTURE.IMAGES ON STANDARD TV ARE VIVID.HOWEVER,ON HDTV BROADCASTS THE VIEWER FEELS LIKE HE IS A PART OF THE MOVIE STORY OR SPORTS EVENT.THE UNIVERSAL REMOTE IS VERY USER FRIENDLY.THE TV IS SURPRISINGLY LIGHT WEIGHT FOR ITS WIDE SCREEN.DVD MOVIES ARE AS GOOD AS ACTUALLY BEING IN THE MOVIE THEATER.THE ONLY DRAWBACKS ARE THE PRICE ALTHOUGH STILL CHEAPER THAN MANY INFERIOR PLASMA TVS AND THE FACT THAT THE LAMP STOPPED WORKING AFTER 9 MONTHS.MY WARRANTY COVERED THE COST.HOWEVER, I HAD TO WAIT 6 DAYS FOR THE PART TO ARRIVE.OVERALL,I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS TV WITH DIGITAL CABLE OR DIRECT TV.
