The screen of Sony KV-36FS12FD Trinitron WEGA TV looks absolutely flat and the TV itself looks hi-tech with its light-gray finish and sharp angles. It is also huge, at 223 lbs.

When I first bought this tv I was pleased with picture and quality.After having it for 4 years I am still pleased. However Just today I went to turn it on and nothing happened. It just zapped out. Upon researching my problem I have come to find out the flyback transformer and a few other components are of substandard construction. Just do a search and you will find that thousands of others have had this same problem. If you don't mind having a tv last for more than 5 years then this may be okay for you. I called sony and they were very rude and unwilling to help in any way. All I can say is this is the last television I plan on buying from them if they can't stand behind their product. I can understand if there are a few bad apples but after a bit of research, now I know there is a problem with the quality. Thousands of people can't be wrong.
