The 512MB N
W-MS90D
has replaced this model. Please read my review. This is Sonys fourth Memory Stick Network Walkman. With so many years of experience, Sony has spawned a lot of inspiring concepts. Each April, ...
Pros: Portable, 256MB, expandable, titanium, style, simple controls, ATRAC3 saves memory. Cons: Software can be tedious, unit can be lighter, flimsy neckstrap.
I just got this player around two weeks ago, and I must say that I am very, very pleased with this p ...
Pros: Small, 256meg w/ATRAC3,great design and solid. Cons: 5mW output,Overpriced for value
I recently purchased one of these slick and compact titanium cased units from a retail store here in Canada. The retail cost on these puppies are 499$ (cdn), but I assure you the cost price is roughly 70% of the 499. Sooo If you plan on getting one, Im ...
Pros: sounds fine, mid-range price Cons: Controls are diffulct to use and poorly laid out.
I recently purchsed this Sony Mini Disk Walkman which also has TV/Weather/FM/AM for about $200. The disks hold about 3.5 CD's of music and cost about $2 ea. The unit sounds fine and I use the equalizer. The headphones could have been better I suppose. ...
Pros: small, lightweight, looks nice. Cons: Software issues - major
While it looks cool and it lightweight, the problems you will encounter far outweigh any design issues. Buggy software with Windows, (crashed puter 15 times in 2 days), installation software was missing .dll file and windows would not recognize Sony's .inf files. Hardware had a manufacturing defect and memory of unit had to be reformatted. All this 2 days after purchase. Oh joy. Indeed, now that it works, you have to use the Sony music store, which uses a different version of their software, which will again, crash your XP puter. Took 6 hours on the phone with Sony support to fix issues, I had to hunt down a support number, none were provided.
This is the best MP3 ever by dafield601 ,Dec 06 '03
Pros: Style Song capacity cradle(extra stylish) Cons: Earbuds
This is the Mp3 player of my life!!!!
When you install it it creates a memory stick drive all seperate for you to look at in the my computer box its nice is just like dragging and dropping in the HIFI folder instead of using sonicstage its really nice. But you wont get alot of songs that way becuase there not compressed.
I brought this unit because of I was looking on the computer and seen it. It looked nice and it held more songs then my Minidisc player so I wanted it I was on a mission.
It is so stylish I took it to school with me and got alot of attention becuase of its smallness and and titanium design Im very happy with my purchased everything is right on this.
But only 1 thing i dont like is those earbuds that come with it maybe my ears are small but they dont seem to fit right in mines so but still this will make the perfect gift for anybody who wants music on the go.
Very good for the 105 days it lasted. by artee ,Feb 13 '04
Pros: Light weight, compact, no skipping while running. Cons: Expensive, even more so for the 105 day life span.
I purchased this product based on Sony's reputation, small size and favorable reviews including a lack of skipping problems with movement. Because I mainly used the unit to listen to my own CDs, Sony's proprietary ATRAC format wasn't an issue, nor was the added time needed to format WAV files, etc. I even purchased Sony's optional external speaker system to use when not exercising. The unit was very good for the 105 days it lasted. The unit is expensive ($299 at Crutchfield with free 2nd day shipping) though I was more than happy while it worked. However, given that it stopped working 15 days after the full warranty expired and I am now left with paying for labor/shipping charges to fix it, needless to say I am a bit disappointed in this unit. No MP3 unit is worth 3$ per day regardless of it's style, features and sound.
Pros: Tiny player. Rechargeable battery with long play time. Excellent display. Hands-free. Cons: Expensive. Actrac3 files convert slowly. Headphones slip constantly.
I have a few complaints regarding my MS70D that is just now 1 year old.
The first is that the headphone design is a great idea that unfortunately doesn't work very well. I'm constantly readjusting the headphones b/c the wires keep slipping through the neck clip. This is particularly annoying if you are using the player while running or lifting weights. It would be much better if the wires had a better locking system.
The second complaint is that the Atrac3 conversion takes forever and you have to do this for every file. Straight MP3 file players load much, much faster.
The third complaint is that my player doesn't seem to be holding up very well. The right channel keeps cutting out and this problem doesn't appear to be related to the headphones (which by the way are impossible to replace given the unique style unless you get the original from Sony).
Pros: battery lasts a long time and the mp3 is light Cons: wire cant be replaced and gets damaged easily. mp3 freezes
good product, easy to use, hold a large amount of of mp3 file songs, good features, but can freeze unexpectedly and wire gets damaged easily and you can not replace it
