After purchasing a MP3 player for my brother for X mas I decided that I needed one, the big thing for me was to get it at a good price and to get ample storage. I happen to stumble across this Sony player at a really good price, it was on sale plus it ...
Pros: small size, 1GB storage, solid construction, BATTERY LIFE, neckstrap Cons: awkward shuffle function, lack of armband or belt clip
After being very disappointed with a Rio Cali after I tried adding 512MB to it, i decided to switch and buy the Sony NW-E99 instead. After a week, I am very happy with my purchase. This audio player is tiny, but the construction feels very solid. It ...
Pros: Tiny, ample capacity, long battery life, well built, quality construction. Cons: Software is restrictive, interface a little tricky, screen somewhat small and not always readable, pricey
I was thinking about saving up for the HD1 but decided against it, realizing that I wanted as compact a player as I could find. I saw that Sony came out with this 1GB player and decided it was for me. The previous low-capacity NW's are pretty pricey, ...

Hi, I needed a new MP3 player as my old one die!!! Anyway after much looking on the net I decided on the Sony NW-E99. First off, I have had 2 mp3 players before, so I at lest thought I knew what to expect... wrong!!! The over all appearance was good ...
Pros: Size and battery life Cons: Sound quality, Music transferring
I originally had a 40GB iPod which I still use but I got this Sony NW-E99 as a gift. I figured, what the heck, I'll give it a try. The look is a lot different that those of Apples but I wouldn't let the looks deceive me. But I was wrong. First and foremost, the sound quality was horrible. I couldn't bear it. I took it out skating because it fit in my pocket perfectly. As I did so, all I could hear were vibrations which made my ears hurt. Aside from the horrible sound quality, transferring songs was difficult. The software, Sonic Stage was not very user friendly unlike iTunes. It was very difficult to transfer songs and i only had 10 songs transferred before i got impatient. I wouldn't recommend this product if you are looking for an mp3 player. I suggest sticking with Apple products. The difficulty in transferring the songs alone will make you want to return this product. It was a good this I got this as a gift. The only good thing that came out of this player was its size and battery life. The battery life beat that of my iPod
Pros: Small size, ease of use. Cons: Needs an arm band strap like so many other MP3 players have
I received this as a gift for Christmas and so far I really like it. I have had some difficultly loading some of the tracks I have from Napster, but the majority loaded w/o a problem. Unlike some earlier players from Sony, this one will accept MP3. The small size is nice for what I will be using it for-running and training at the gym, but the provided strap is worthless to me. I've searched Sony's site for an arm band holder and none is currently available. Sound quality is good and it is easy to use. The software provided works very well and is fairly intuitive. If you can get by with just under 500 songs on a player, this would be a good choice
