Your LAST refrigerator:

by newtownbeans Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 1000, Dec 17 '99
Pros: Large capacity, convenience, stylish. efficiency
Cons: Difficult to retrofit
The first Sub-Zero refrigerator I bought was about 10 years ago and I left it in the house that I sold. When I bought my new house I decided to get a KitchenAid side-by-side instead. After 3 years I longed for my Sub-Zero and decided to invest...

The only fridge you will ever need

by kundawg , Dec 04 '99
Pros: Durable, reliable, and always cold
Cons: Might get locked inside if you aren't careful
My family has owned a Sub-Zero refrigerator for as long as I can remember and even before that. This must be the most durable and reliable refrigerator ever made. Not to mention that it is very stylish and can fit into almost any decor. It has more space...

I am very happy with the Sub-Zero 632 Refrigerator
by eliseeal ,Sep 27 '09
Pros: It's a great product to recommend. It looks great. Food is always cold.
Cons: Since about one year something rattles inside and have't been able to locate it
My wife and I picked this Sub-Zero 632 built-in for our new house in 1998.  For the first time last week, Monday September 21, 2009 I had the ''Vacuum Condenser'' signal coming on.  Well, I removed the top panel and vacuumed the dust off the condenser, turned it off and after about 30 seconds back on.  It still works like a champ.  I found that the upper panel on my 632 can be easily pushed upward in a slot on the mounting bracket and and be removed by pulling it slightly toward me through a large hole on the end of that slot. That is also how I hooked it back in and pushed it back down into its place.  Ice clumping together isn't an issue for us.  Mostly when I need Ice, it's nearly empty from frequent usage. Never had any other maintenance or break down besides cleaning the condencer last week.

The best
by rebgaby ,Jul 02 '08
Pros: The best, and you pay for it
Cons: You could pay half the price, but it might not last 30 years.
When we bought our house, it had a 30-yr-old sub-zero refrigerator which worked very well. But the inside parts were starting to fall apart, and it was not efficient. It had Oak veneer to match the kitchen but was the basic side-by-side model.

We had fallen in love with the storage space and when it needed replacing we would have had to remodel the kitchen to put a different-shaped refrigerator in - so we got the new version of the same, basic sub-zero, this time in stainless, for a whopping 7,239.

We are very happy with the new one, it it looks great.

Very disappointed
by ud1953 ,Oct 28 '06
Pros: keeps food cold
Cons: shoddy quality, poor service
Purchased at Keidel in Cincinnati, be very wary and question them closely, very poor service. Refrig was poorly assembled, connections not made, water and ice didn't work, two years later it still leaks and has warped floor underneath. We had to find our own repairman eventhough was under warranty. Subzero said there are no repair people in our area.

I hate the subzero
by elandjer ,Sep 20 '09
Pros: It is spacious and looks good.
Cons: It requires much to much maintenance and the required care is difficult and time consuming.
My kitchen planner recommended this subzero.  It has wood panels on the doors which may affect the operations, but it flashes about once a week "vacuum condenser", which involves removing the top panel by unscrewing it and then standing on a stool or ladder to reach in and vacuum it.  It appears to work just as well if I just turn off and on the refrigerator.   The icemaker must be emptied completely about every other month or the ice all sticks together!  I had none of these problems with my 20 year old GE side by side!
