Pros: Easy to move,
Can be used where a window unit can't
Cons: Loud,
Water tank clumsy to empty
Summary: I've had this unit for two summers now and have done a couple things to make it easier to drain, and optimize the cooling. To make the draining easier, I have this unit up on some plastic crates about 5 inches off the floor and feed the drain tube ... read more

Pros: Strong and efficient Cons: Self-evaporative function works poorly and drainage is impossible.
Summary: I've always wanted an air conditioner that I could move from room to room and cool only where I am. I had never seen a portable air conditioner before and thought this would be perfect for me. However, this is an item with great potential but with one ... read more

Pros: Cools a small room down to a level that makes it possible to continue thinking. Cons: Not as powerful as a window AC.
Summary: I bought this one used on craigslist, cause I read various reviews on epinions and other websites and wasn't sure that these portable machines actually work. I've had it for a few weeks and can say only great things about it. Indeed it doesn't cool ... read more

Pros: High efficiency rating but low wattage consumption, unit cools down well. Cons: Heavy to lift to drain water tank and is not self evaporating in high humidity.

Pros: built quality, low power consumption, strong fan if that's what you prefer. Cons: overrated BTU, very loud, big footprint, overpriced, no auto-off fan, water leak, draining needed.
Summary: Just received this unit yesterday, it is much bigger than I'd expected. The windows kit is a joke, I bought much better and rigid foam (Foamula brand)from Home Depot, they're pink in color but only cost $6, very easy to cut to fit your windows. I use ... read more

Pros: Very quiet operation. Excellent cooling for a 350 sq. ft. room. Cons: Needs to stay in vicinity of where exhaust hose vents.
Summary: I purchased the Sunpentown 1210E model to cool a 3rd floor home office in a Townhouse. This floor becomes extremely hot in the summer due to the heat having no way to escape, and the central AC unit is not strong enough to provide the cooling. I needed ... read more
