SMA4-SMB3: If it ain't broke ...

by kjell1979 kjell1979 is a Lead on Epinions in Games, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Jun 04 '04
Pros: gameplay, graphics, many powerups and secrets, save points
Cons: no repeating completed levels, some annoying sound "enhancements"
Everyone Loves Mario Super Mario Brothers 3 came out during Mario's heyday with Nintendo. Some called it the golden age of gaming. It certainly was for my generation as many have since moved on with their lives and set aside their video games. ...

SMA4: Super Mario Bros. 3 - Plumber in Red (and Green)

by Rock_On Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 200, Oct 16 '04
Pros: play on the go, colorful update, same old simple controls
Cons: $34.99 for a 15 year old game...
There are a lot of different things in my life that I don’t remember, but there’s also a lot of stuff that I do remember. I remember my first lost tooth, I was running down a hallway in my grandparent’s house, I tripped on something and fell ...

Leaving well enough alone (for the most part...)

by derek_ween , Aug 17 '04
Pros: The core game is pure gold, you can save!
Cons: The features are irksome as usual with Super Mario Advance
It's been unspoken-but-widely-accepted for about ten years, so let's just say it explicitly: Super Mario Bros. 3 for the Nintendo Entertainment System is one of, if not THE premier achievments in the history of video gaming. What twenty-something ...

Super Mario 3

by kangaroojack , Dec 10 '06
Pros: Lots of non-violent fun
Cons: not gory enough for the rising generation
Whenever I think of playing Super Mario 3, I can only think of fun times in my far distant past. You know what I mean those memories of fun times, that now that you are an adult you can not do anymore because you are too mature. Well Nintendo is trying ...

Old School on the go!
by atari_x ,Nov 12 '06
Pros: Classic. Fun. 10's of Hours of gameplay.
Cons: Only cheap place to buy it is online.
Lately Nintendo has been putting some of their old Regular Nintendo games on the Gameboy Advanced. This is the one you should own! Worlds upon Worlds, Levels upon Levels, This game will keep you occupied for hours at a time, or minutes at a time. That is exactally what a gameboy is supposed to do.

You can play one or two players using only one system and only one game (unlike most games that require you to own two systems and two games) One player plays as Mario until he beats a level or dies, and then it is Luigi's turn. This is most likely the best mario game ever made on the Regular Nintendo, and those old outdated graphics that look all pixelated on the big screen, look stunning and beautiful on the small Gameboy Advanced (or DS) screen.

The bottom line, is I have never met someone who disliked this game, if you were to only own one game for your gameboy, I say let this be the one.

Now he's a frog, oh wait! What is he now?
by garfield135 ,Dec 11 '06
Pros: Intriguing gameplay, you can play as Luigi, and you can get super cool powers!
Cons: Minigame is the same boring Mario Bros., and easy to beat.
When I was getting my original GBASP ( I now have the new one) the guy said "would you like this game for 15 bucks" and I said sure. I am so glad I bought this game! It has 8 worlds and probably 40 levels PLUS if you have a GC you can hook it up. Something I thought to be the jackpot was you could play back your game and save the little video! You can turn into a raccoon, or Super Hammer Bro., or a frog, or a super raccoon, or a cat that has the power to turn for a short time into a stone statue!

I rank this game quite highly! One thing though, this game is not incredibly challenging to beat ( I beat it 3 times ; not including the at least 10 times I beat the last level for fun and the many times I've play all the other level. If you want a game that will take a few weeks to beat, try out Yoshi's Island http://www.epinions.com/content_290839236228 .)

A New/Old Addition To The Mario Family
by copycat136 ,Dec 19 '04
Pros: Tons of fun levels(close to a hundred)
Cons: basicly the same powers and bosses of the old Mario games and TOO EASY
This is a game loved game thought the ages. First there was Mario. After that the games included Luigi. After that they just keep making new games of them both. Now there are Mario games for every gaming system!

In this game Mario and Luigi battle beside each other,in large worlds. They battle huge bosses, play fun mini-games,and even fly! Its true in the game if Mario or Luigi has a special prower-up they and fly or hover. There are tons of sercert things to get,soo even though it says you've beat the game 100% dont think your done!

I did'nt like this game because that the game does have the best grahics. Also because the soundtrack to the game could in prove a HOLE lot.

Overall I think this game deserves a 4 star rating for fun/callenging/just plan fun.

I would rate this game # 1
by shilo2231 ,Mar 06 '07
Pros: Great for all ages!
Cons: Nothing this game is perfect!
This is the best game for kids and adults. This game originally came out when I was 12 yrs. old. I now have 7 & 4 yr. old sons. They both love this game. I still love playing it after all these years. It is truly a game for "all ages". It has the perfect mixture of ease, and complicity. The boards are very short, so if you keep trying you are guaranteed success. This is great for the little ones. Some of the boards are tricky, but you always see a way to beat it. Even if you die say, 15 times in a row, it is addicting enough you do not want to give up. I love how it has little treasure chests to pick from. You can turn yourself into a frog, bear, or tiger. I also like how it has matching games that give you a chance to earn extra men. This game has something for everyone. I think it is the best game boy advanced game.
