Pros: Strong, quiet, visually appealing.
Cons: Poorly designed, easily breakable, bowl and cover.

I use mine quite a bit, and one of the things I do often is grate cheddar cheese. The last couple brands I owned had a difficult time with this task, but the Oster has a powerful, fairly quiet motor and has no problems.
But...
I am on my fourth replacement bowl and third cover. The bowl has a plastic mechanism that both locks the cover and activates the safety switch when the cover is in place. This plastic mechanism keeps breaking. Also the tabs on the plastic cover sometimes break off - this is probably due to the stress on them when trying to get the cover off when the handle is broken.

I keep buying replacements because in the short term it's less expensive than buying a different brand, which I might not like anyway, and I really like the base unit.

Pros: Nice, sleek styling, solid, powerful.
Cons: The real test of customer service is what you do when things go wrong.

We recently purchased an Oster 3200 food processor. Initially we loved it -- until we went to used the blade for shredding. They had failed to pack the blade extender in the box so the slicer/grater couldn't be used. I contacted Oster, gave them all the information on the model they needed to send me the part. I got an email back from them quickly. So far, so good. A couple of days later, an envelope arrived in the mail. I don't have a clue what the tiny black part they sent us goes to but it certainly wasn't the white 3" blade extender we needed to operate the slicer. We gathered up the food processor, found the receipt, and returned it to the store. We figured if they couldn't get a simple thing like a blade extender right, imagine what would happen if we had a real problem.

Pros: At the moment, none...
Cons: Cheap. Cheap. Cheap...and the replacement parts are expensive...

This expensive food processor is a piece of junk... within a month the bowl cracked. And today, the plastic unit on the disc blade blew apart while grating mozzarella cheeze. now, granted the cheese was still a little frozen...but come on! Besides, it never did a great job on un-frozen mozza in the first place. some turned out nice, most turned into paste and the last 1/4" just got stuck wedged between the top and the blade. Useless.

The replacement parts are bloody expensive too. I'll be shopping for a new unit to replace this POS with...very unhappy.

Pros: great motor
Cons: You have to keep emptying out the bowl. Too much trouble.

They claim this is a 10 cup bowl. Well, if you use the shredder and shred more than 2 cups, when you remove the bowl from the motor, everything falls out the center hole. They failed to design the center hole high enough to hold any amount of food. When I contacted the company to see if there was an updated bowl, they told me I had a good point there, but there was no updated bowl. Be Careful, if you should mix anything hot, you could get burned. I returned my product for a full refund. Such a shame, the product motor was solid, the rest of the unit was not designed properly.

Pros: does everything very well, attractive, powerful, quiet.
Cons: bowl is terrible. too many cheap parts that cannot take repeated use before breaking.

Hefty, powerful, quiet, large capacity. Works well at all tasks.

The bowl lock mechanism is over engineered and breaks, which will not allow you to use the blender unless you rig it. The replacement is about 20.00. Very frustrating.
