Pros: Relatively quite. Cleans well Cons: Expensive to repair. Few people work on them. Strong spray etches glass and removes graphics.
When we built our house we bought all Bosch appliances based on research and recommendations of friends. Like other reviewers have noted, the control module seems to be the achilles heel of this product. Compared to some I guess we have been lucky in ...
Pros: Good looks, quiet operation, capacity for extra tall items Cons: Expensive, doesn't always dry plastics, average cleaning ability
I purchased the Thermador DW44Z stainless steel dishwasher with black handle for the same reason the majority of Thermador dishwasher buyers will - it matches the Thermador range ovens. That is the biggest selling point of the dishwasher and the reason ...
Pros: Extremely Quiet, Large Interior Cons: No Cycle indicator light
I purchased this dishwasher to match my new Thermador 48inch range. The dishwasher is essentially a Bosch dishwasher with a SS front and handle to match the range.(the handle on mine does not match the picture shown above) Also, there are no controls ...
Pros: Looks nice, but looks are deceiving in this case. Cons: Thermador has a great name but dissapoints with there quality & service.
Have all Thermador dishwasher DW44ZP, (along with Thermador fridge, oven....), all bought new 3 years ago. Dishwasher does mediocore to poor cleaning since new, serviced numerous times in first year! Previously had an Asko European made dishwasher (www.asko.com) for almost 10 years without a single problem in that time (then moved), and it is a very quiet machine. Stay away from American junk.
Pros: NONE Cons: Poor Product. Even Poorer Warranty support.
The dishwasher control module failed within 18 months. Technical support is non-existent, the warranty support is really horrible and utterly useless. After talking to the customer service rep, at my request I was transferred to the warranty Manager - Julie Wright, who told me and I quote - "she's owned a GE dishwasher for 15 years and it didn't have problems, but Thermador now does not make products that last beyond the warranty period and I should expect to pay for maintainance, no different than paying for it on a luxury car".
She insisted that I had to go through their approved service company only to get limited warranty coverage only for the part
I will never every buy a Thermador product and I will warn all buyers to be "buyer beware" since by their own admission they don't make them to last.
Thermador dishwasher disaster by bwiedeman ,Jul 12 '05
Pros: Was quiet, but there are many dishwashers on the market that are quiet now. Cons: Very unreliable!! Dry cycle was usually incomplete. Customer service and product support was terrible.
I purchased a Thermador Dishwasher (model DW245UW) in 2001.
Purchase price was $1,192.50. The dishwasher has failed three times in four years. All failures were identical, the control module. The first failure was covered under warranty while the next two, occuring at 1.5 year intervals were not covered. These failures were also the control module. I contacted Mr. Joe Roberts, Thermador customer service, to discuss the latent defect, but was told that Thermador regrets the difficulty, but is unwilling to support any clain beyond the one year period, regardless of the circumstance. I have decided to scrap the dishwasher and buy a Miele based upon their reputation for quality, service and support. The experience with Thermador will also bias my views towards buying any other type product from Thermador.
Pros: Beautiful, quiet Cons: dishes smell after just one day in dishwasher
This dishwasher, while beautiful and so quiet that we don't even know when it's on, can really smell after about 1 day of holding some soiled dishes. Maybe it's the stainless steel interior, but I had the same problem with my previous dishwasher. It was a Bosch, which makes this Thermador dishwasher. I also don't like the utensil holder. My flatware is not overly fat or large, but I have a difficult time getting them into the little "holes" for each piece. I will do more research next time I purchase a high-end dishwasher.
Pros: Super stylish - EXTREMELY quiet! Cons: Don't know when it's done
This dishwasher rocks!!! Ours came with our house - I could not believe a dishwasher could be so sleek AND so QUIET!!! Our kitchen & living room are open to each other, so it's important to have a quiet dishwasher. You really can't tell it's on unless it's draining water, thus the imperfection stated on another review - you can't tell when it's done. Not a bad imperfection to have....
The dishes have always come out super clean & I love the "refill rinse-aid" indicator. All the controls are on the top so all you can see is one super sleek stainless steel machine.
