Thermador KBUT361A (20.3 cu. ft.) Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

Pros: Nice styling, extremely quiet. Good capacity, use of interior space. Bright lighting.
Cons: Poor quality. Unit failed twice in first two months.

Refrigerator installed Dec. 23. January 26 it failed and spoiled all the food in it. Took Thermador three trips and until Feb. 9 to repair it. Unit died Feb. 26 spoiling all the food again.

Details:

1st visit - Technician fixed improperly connected wires. Worked for 24 hours.
2nd visit - Technician does not even open the unit, looks up a part on his laptop, phones order, leaves.
3rd visit - Ten days later technician replaces PC board in unit.
4th visit - Unit works for three weeks, then fails. Technician claims the blower has burned out.

Thermador is unapologetic. Company is not receptive to replacing the unit in its entirety. No offer of compensation for two full refrigerators' worth of food that spoiled. We ask for compensation for small dorm-sized refrigerator we had to purchase and have been declined.

Thermador is a terrible service company. This isn't like buying a fridge from GE. There is no fleet of repair trucks, nor parts in inventory. For the price, the poor warranty service response time is completely unacceptable.

There are a lot of great high end fridges out there, so there's no need to risk a dud with Thermador.
