I Love this Rice Cooker!!
by cherbie ,Jan 04 '07
Pros: Easy clean up, retractable cord, makes large quantities, solid construction Cons: Guidelines for water quantities when cooking brown rice.
I was given a small rice cooker as a gift. But I have a large family and we eat rice. So I returned it. After doing some research on the internet, I choose the Tiger JNP 1800. Unfortunately, it wasn't sold in local stores, so I ordered it online.
I've had it for a year now and I absolutely love it. It is very easy to use and can make large quantities. I especially appreciate how easy it is to clean. And the cord is retractable--a great feature! It is a solid unit, made very well, and I expect to have it for years to come.
I only wish they had included some guidelines for water quantities when using brown rice. This I learned by trial and error, but now I have it down. No biggie.
I definitely am glad I bought this, it was worth every last dime. I would recommend it to anyone.

Rice Cooker For Life A Must As An Investment For Good Health is Your Wealth
by hktrading ,Nov 24 '06
Pros: You save time & rice. Cannot waste rice. Measure, rinse, check water, cover, turn on. Cons: Expensive for El Cheapos, penny pinchers for not looking for quality product.
As an owner of one for the last three years, we at Hong Kong Trading Asian Food Inc 3820 Southside Blvd Jacksonville FL have customers who had theirs replaced after 35 years of use and came by to buy new ones. Others have bought to give as gifts to newly weds hopefully to last. We recently gave our Mom and Dad their first tiger rice cooker because they were complaining about the cheap one they bought because it continually burns and dries up their rice. As an owner, we have convinced our friends and families that they get what they paid for and that wheneven they have unused cooked rice they can always refresh this batch with the newly cooked rice and it is hard to tell the difference. It has been a great product and have told our customers that this is the "cadillac" of the rice cookers.

TIger JNP, a workhorse
by johaver ,Oct 17 '05
Pros: Easy to operate, workhorse, smaller inner pot included if needed Cons: None
We received our JNP-1800 as a wedding gift, almost 13 years ago. Some friends sent it to us from Japan, since they were unavailable in our area. We have used it at least once a week since then, and it continues to work flawlessly, producing the kind of steamed rice that I used to only get in restaurants. I got a smaller version for my mom who grew up in southern Louisiana and has always boiled her rice. She loves it and the quality of the steamed rice it produces. Anyway, I highly recommend it.
