Pros: Great picture, lots of inputs including component, flat screen Cons: Inputs can only be accessed via the remote. Sound is so-so.
I'm lucky enough to work in the video game industry where I have a wide variety of HDTV's to look at and use on a daily basis. But when I need to check something on a standard definition TV, I look no further than the trusty Toshiba 14" ...
Pros: Excellent screen, wide range of inputs Cons: Remote doesn't control DVD players :(
We purchased this tv for the bedroom, where screen size was not very important to us. It replaced a good but old 13" Sony Trinitron, and has done nothing but impress us since we first plugged it in.
Pros: Good size tv for a small space, flat screen, front A/V jacks Cons: Stereo sound not great
I purchased this tv over a year ago for $270 (including tax) from Best Buy. I was happy with my old 13" tv, but I needed to get a tv capable of splitting the signal so that I could watch one channel while recording another. Since I was getting a new...
Pros: Flat, Bright 14" Screen; Good color; Stereo; Universal Remote; DVD inputs Cons: Not the fastest when changing channels
What can I say? I was looking to replace my 13" Sharp after 15 years so I started doing some comparison shopping, and no other model came close to this Toshiba one.
It has many features that larger high-end TV's have:
Pros: Small, sleek, cheaper than its counterpart Cons: Channel switching is a little slow
After living without a television for several years I suddenly moved to Connecticut and had to winter through some harrowing snowstorms. I like to read a lot, but enough is enough of anything and decided a television might be just the thing to nick a...
Pros: Reliable, nice screen, nice remote, good price Cons: Headphone, audio and video jacks in front of TV
I was moving halfway across the country and decided that I simply couldn't lug my gigantic old TV with me. So, I set off to find a nice, small TV. This TV fit the bill perfectly. I bought this TV at Best Buy and it was actually recommended to me by ...
Pros: Very beautiful picture. 3 separate RCA inputs. Attractive modern look. Cons: No complaints!
This TV is a super model. It has worked perfectly. The picture is beautiful and the multiple inputs make it easy to run anything into the TV (especially the convenient rca jacks on the front for the 3rd input). You can easily line a VCR and a DVD...
Pros: Great picture, Awesome features, High quality Cons: Cost
I needed a monitor for my non-linear editing system I was building and didn't want to spend the $500-$2000 for a professional monitor. At first I bought a cheap Sanyo at Walmart for $90, but after using it for about 2 minutes I realized it was no good....
Pros: Great everything (except) Cons: Stable Sound Feature Is a Lie.
Speaker size is Smaller than appears.
How would you feel if your bought a really awesome tv in everyway and was really glad it had the Stable Sound feature so the volume of the program your watching and the commercials are the same and find out it didn't work for jack. One of the main ...
This TV reigns supreme as the ultimate bargain for kitchen or dorm room applications. It is small and extremely portable, with built-in handles on the sides to facilitate easy transport, which is especially helpful if being used in a college setting....
Will turn-off by itself... by replyaladdin ,Oct 31 '06
Pros: Stays on for few minutes before.. Cons: switches-off every repeatedly.
I purchased Toshiba 14AF42 in 09/02. Since past few months it has developed a rare "disease". The TV will switch-off by itself w/o any intervention. If I turn it on again (whether w/remote or press the button on the TV), it will repeatedly turn off in few seconds. If I let it sit for few minutes and turn it back on, it will stay on for, perhaps, no more than 5-7 mins and switch-off again at its own discretion. Damn thing is so lazy it just refuses to work.
I was looking for a... by bobby_dt3014 ,Dec 19 '02
I was looking for a small Sony Wega tv when I came across this tv. The price difference along with the options that came with this tv were much better than what sony had to offer. This tv actually has component video! It also has audio video inputs in the front. This is a perfect bedroom sized TV and very versatile. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a small tv.
I love this TV! I was shopping for a Sony Wega 13 inch and came across this TV in the process. The Sony was mono and the cabinet shape was asymmetrical and rounded: not to my liking. On the shelf next to it was this nice little Toshiba flat screen. It had the same basic cabinet design as my Sony 27 inch Wega, which I love. Plus it has a 1 inch larger screen (than the Sony 13 inch) and stereo sound. It actually costs $20 less (no Sony name recognition markup)!
The one downside is the universal remote. It does not have the ability to run my satellite receiver. On the other hand, my universal for my satellite reveiver (a Sony Sat-B50) runs the TV perfectly so, I just use it instead of the Toshiba remote. No problem here but because of this I can't give it a perfect 5 rating.
All in all this set had been a wonderful purchase. I recommend it.
