Pros: Sleek design/fantastic picture/good sound/glow in the dark remote Cons: can't watch another program while you are recording
When my trusty Sony 20" TV that I had in my bedroom started giving me problems I thought that I would replace it,with another Sony of course. I had officially appointed Sony as the official supplier of TV sets to my house. So,off to Best Buy to retrieve ...

DVD won't open, power cannot be shut off
by dmackey00 ,Jan 01 '07
Pros: Great pix, easy to use remote Cons: DVD and power off failures.
My Toshiba MW20FN1 won't power off with the remote or the power button, it has to be unplugged from the power source. I also cannot access the DVD player because it won't open, using the remote or the button on the TV. Both problems occurred at the same time, and right after I attempted to unsuccessfully open the DVD player with the button on the TV. The DVD has only been used about a dozen times total.
The TV is now two years old and worked fine until now. I also cannot get the remote to change from TV/VCR mode to DVD mode. All other features appear to work just fine.

DVD JAMS
by worfin ,Mar 14 '05
Pros: Inexpensive. Nice screen. Cons: I am very displeased with the durability/design of the DVD player.
We have I have purchased two Toshiba combination TV/DVD Players.
The first was Toshiba MD9DN1R. The second was a Toshiba MW20FN1(-R). Both models have had the same DVD holder tray failure. The close/open tray jams. I took the first model to an electronics repair shop and after a $100 charge they were unable to repair it so that the DVD player would read a disk again. Now the second model has had the exact same failure. This is after the warranty expires.

Excellent Combo TV
by sluggo91 ,Feb 08 '04
Pros: Excellent picture quality, 4 head VCR, DVD Cons: Expensive, remote could be better
We were looking to move our current Sylvania 20" TV/VCR combo to our 3rd bedroom and replace it with a TV/DVD/VCR combo. After a some research we decided on the Toshiba. What a nice TV. Excellent picture, 4 head VCR and built in DVD. The picture quality is as good if not better than our 27" Sony in the family room. Remote control probably could have been better designed but that is nit-picking. You certainly can get a cheaper combo TV but we compared the quality and the other brands aren't in the same league. If you are willing to spend a little extra coin definitely go with the Toshiba.

DVD did not work
by ben47 ,Dec 24 '03
Pros: Great picture Cons: DVD problems
Very high picture quality but the DVD player did not work properly. When watching a DVD, the picture skipped or became pixelated. The same DVD was fine on our stand alone DVD player and the problem occurred with multiple DVDs so I had to return it.
