Pros: A no-brainer automatic update. Cons: None really. (no anti-spyware features) At least not in this version.
First I must say, NO anti-virus program can keep you 100% safe from viruses. The user of any computer must always be diligent. However, with that said, anti-virus programs are a must today, and with a little be of vigilance on the computer users part ...

My experience not so good
by agfranklin ,Jan 14 '05
Pros: With the $25 rebate, if I ever get it, the price is cheap. Cons: Disabled my internet connection.
On the strength of favorable reviews in Epinions, I downloaded a copy of this software and installed it. It prevented any connection to my ISP. On their web site, I was able to get no help. I did get a response to an e-mail request for help, after two days, by which time I had bought and installed the McAfee anti-virus. The e-mailed advice I received was to disable the firewall, and that the web site support had been discontinued.

Avoid Trend like the plague.
by damienmb ,Apr 27 '05
Pros: Will find viruses that other major anti virus software will miss. Cons: insane verification procedure if you purchase from the website.
I am unable to verify a product that I have paid for even after using the forgot password option. It sent me the password I was using. This program works o.k. if you only install it once. If you have to re-install it after a re-format for example You WILL be treated like a criminal in their verification process.

Good software, buyer beware
by crmorr03 ,Sep 23 '04
Pros: Easy use, current updates make protection feel secure. Cons: Yearly $15 upgrade. :(
This is a great application. It's easy to use, automatically updates itself, and will scan your drive for the latest viruses and quarantine or delete them for you. No complaints there.
When I bought this product last year I didn't see anywhere that I had only bought one year's use. Now I can't update my virus protection without buying PC-cillin 2004. Unfortunately, I'm too cheap to pay for a yearly upgrade, so I'll be switching to ZoneAlarm's freeware.

Best product available IMHO
by dwhalen ,Sep 24 '03
Pros: Fast, efficient, and (from what I can tell), virtually bug-free Cons: None that I can see.
All:
I tried Norton Anti-Virus with Personal Firewall and was very disappointed. Riddled with bugs and inefficient code, Norton gave me many headaches on my XP machine.
PP-cillin 2003, on the other hand, is fabulous. It comes with a firewall, and both the anti-virus and firewall are extremely easy to use. The code is much more efficient too, not slowing down my pc in the least bit. This product was well put together. It makes you wonder how a company as big as Symantec can't make an efficient, bug-free product.
On a final note, Trend Micro offers free technical support. When I tried to notify Symamtec of my technical difficulties, I had to send them an e-mail and still have yet to get a response. Of course, I could have called them and paid $25 to help them figure out why there product is full of bugs -- NOT!!!

Simply The BEST Anti-Virus Software
by donmateo ,Jan 29 '04
Pros: Easy to use interface, daily update reminders,no bugs, GREAT Tech support! Cons: No Cons.
Trend Micro's PC-Cillin is without a doubt the best anti-virus software available. I'm not exactly a techie kind of person and so PC-cillin's ease of use really appeals to me. It has performed excellently for me the last year I've been using it. It has an easy to understand interface and I get almost daily update prompts. If there's something particularly vicious going around out there I'll get a yellow alert prompt to update immediately.
The main reason I'm sold on PC-cillin is that I've tried McAffee as well as Symantic's Norton anti-virus and was plagued by buggy problems such as not being able to reinstall their software after having run some repair utilities to my hard drive. And their tech support is like a horrible riddle.
PC-cillin tech support on the other hand is EXCELLENT! They are easily accessible by phone! They were patient and walked my through the tedious process of eliminating the buggy traces of the other previously installed softwares in my '98SE registry. I've never had a problem with PC-cillin and I highly recommend it to all my friends.
