I Jam with I-Jam

by quasar Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 100, Dec 09 '00
Pros: very small, CF media
Cons: battery drain especially in standby mode, No random play
I've been considering buying an MP3 player for a long time, but several things were holding me back. I use both Mac and Windows desktops daily, and I wanted a player I could sync to both. Until recently, the USB options were somewhat limited. I wanted a...

I-Jam 100 MP3 Player

by lucie30 Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Apr 09 '01
Pros: Extremely small size, huge performance.
Cons: Sometimes takes more than one button push to activate a function.
It is hard to believe that such great sound quality can come from such a small package. The I-Jam 100 system is an MP3 player and an MP3 recorder that records on the same type of mini-disk used in digital cameras. These disks are about postage stamp...

by maddieslyo , Feb 23 '01
Pros: less expensive than other players,Has a 10+ hr lit-ion battery.
Cons: Moving parts,bulky,Delicate drive mechanism,Only 40Mb per disk,No radio.
After trying other MP3 players from some of the "big guys" in the industry, I became frustrated with the cost of memory (smart media is expensive). So, I bought the least expensive one I could: The I-Jam.
This is a great MP3 player. It even sounds...

A Good Way to Jam

by DrPepGirl , Jan 20 '01
Pros: Great value for a MP3 player
Cons: No pause button
Note: This review is for the I-JAM I-50 MODEL

Why I Purchased the I-Jam MP3 Player:
I had been looking at MP3 players for a few months. I never really found one that I liked at a decent price, so I decided to hold off for a while....

I've Come a Long Way

by KatScarlett , Oct 22 '00
Pros: Tiny, no skipping
Cons: 16mb MMC, battery life
I'm a coupon lover. That's the thing about me that you need to know going into this. I never buy anything on the internet without a coupon of some kind. So one day as I surfed along I found this great deal wherein you could get an MP3 player for only...

Great... for the price

by umwolvs99 , Sep 25 '00
Pros: Amazing sound, stylish design
Cons: Bad display, cards only hold 5 songs
I bought this MP3 player from Amazon.com for a total of $29.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. It was originally $79.99 there, which was also the sale price of the company's set price of $159.99. So basically, this was a very good deal. However, it's not...

I-JAM: Value priced music

by RedLineX , Feb 03 '00
Pros: Uses compact flash cards, reasonable price, FM tuner
Cons: No USB support, less than adequate sound quality
The I-Jam has its ups and its downs. The one really cool thing about the I-Jam is that you can swap compact flash cards like you swap tapes. This is neat because it allows almost unlimited expandability for the player and the user doesn’t have to reload...

I-Jamin the competition

by BIGGIE213 , Dec 27 '99
Pros: Size, sound quality, bass and treble controls, etc.
Cons: Memory capacity, transferring songs from the computer to the chips is a bit tricky at first.
I recently received this player as a Christmas present. I have listened to the Diamond Rio MP3 player before, but this player sounds better, and it is smaller also. This product weighs a mere 2.5 ounces and is the size of a beeper. When I opened the...

Dated MP3 player but still worth it at current prices

by yusakugo Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10, Jan 18 '01
Pros: MMC slot, dirt cheap, small size, AM/FM tuner, USB available, 32Megs of total MMC
Cons: 2 16Meg MMCs, poor LCD, no song name display, battery life, MMC cards $$$
I purchased the I-Jam player 100 series from Amazon.com when the I-Jam group provided a $50 mail-in rebate. The player cost $79 from Amazon.com originally. After S&H and minus my discounts (from my credit card and an internet site), the player would...

Does the I-Jam's low price outweigh its numerous shortcomings?

by skribbler , Jul 07 '01
Pros: Extremely low price, palm size, FM radio.
Cons: Flimsy design, low memory in package, bad reception for radio, sub-par quality for player.
I've tested out quite a few mp3 players over the past two years. I've even owned three of them: the Diamond Rio Pmp300, the Rio Pmp500, and the I-Jam.

The I-Jam is a back-end model, one of the first generation mp3 players out there with...

I-Jam Mp3 Player. Gets the job done.

by Towdini , Feb 12 '00
Pros: Cheap, Small
Cons: Lower Quality, Smaller Media Disks
The I Jam Mp3 player has certainly has its pros and cons. It allows you the ability to download any song off the internet and carry it around with you at all times. It is priced lower than some more popular brands, namely the Rio, and still has all the...

by petehammer , Oct 08 '00
Pros: Small design, Mac compatible

I bought the I=Jam for two reasons:

Price
&
Mac Compatibility

On the price level, I paid something like $90 at Amazon for it, and there is a $50 rebate, so I figured, what the hey! And bought it.

I Jam Slow

by Canus , Feb 05 '01
Pros: FM Tuner, Compact Size
Cons: Battery Life, FM Tuner
I purchased my I-Jam when portable MP3 players were first hitting the market. I was tired of the skipping of CDs while working out and figured MP3 would be the perfect solution. I chose the I-Jam because at the time it was the only MP3 player with a...

Don't Bother

by Skyleth , Apr 26 '00
Pros: Small Size, FM Tuner
Cons: Carrying Case, 16MB memory cards, bad layout, bad LCD, etc...
There are a number of reasons NOT to get the IJAM mp3 player. Some basic reasons are: Bad LCD, Bad Button Layout, and Bad Memory Layout. The only things that the IJAM has going for it is the Feel, and the size. The fact that it has a FM tuner is a...
