Never Again
by tradojx ,Dec 16 '05
Pros: good sound, rugged, or so I thought Cons: Products only as good as the company that backs it up. No backup here.
I bought this mp3 player in December of 2004. The screen went blank a couple of months ago. I sent in to the company for repair about 5 weeks ago. Every time I call to check the status they take my name and number and never call me back. I called again today for the sixth time. The player overall worked well but I will never deal with this company again. I just email their Hong Kong office to see if I could get any help there. Its a shame. Never again.

Looks nice, doesnt work!
by maps ,Jan 13 '05
Pros: lookg great. Small. Cons: everything
I bought this MP3 player a while back and after a couple of months, it stopped working. I realized that what happened was the battery cover broke so the battery had popped out. Turns out there is a MAJOR design flaw with this unit. There is too much pressure on the battery cover which is held down by a thin piece of plastic at each side. I tried returning it to Circuit City and they told me that it had already been past the 30 days and that i would have to speak to the manufacturer. I contacted the manufacturer who told me they had notified CC about the problem and that they would take it back as a recal and give me a new one. After a second attempt trying to return this junk and having CC tell me they knew nothing about this so called recall, I gave up. It has been sitting in my desk ever since. I put some duct tape to secure the battery cover and it works...but who wants to go around with a duct taped MP3??? Dont buy this!

Started out OK but durability poor
by jfeiner ,Dec 13 '04
Pros: Size, ease of use, style Cons: Durability, overall quality
I bought this player for my daughter to use when she runs. It's aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. It's size makes it great for an exercise buddy. However the unity started turning itself off for no reason and now I think I know why. The battery compartment door won't stay closed. The plastic "catch" mechanism and the door, which is critical to battery function, is no longer effective. There is no way to make this work short of taping the door shut tight. This is unacceptable.

3 Words - PIECE OF JUNK!
by atlconsumer67 ,Oct 23 '04
Pros: Looks nice from a far distance. Cons: Grade A crap - poor fit and finish, poor durability
I bought this player under the advice of my gum chewing, hair flicking, valley girl talking sales associate at Circuit City. The fit and finish is absolute crap. A strange noise seemed to come on for a second when I switch the device on. The unit flickered on and off when I went jogging. Then it stopped working altogether. I replaced the battery thinking that the battery was dead from sitting on the shelf at Circuit City. Finally, I gave up and took it back to Circuit City. The returns clerk told me that many of these units come back.
I went back after doing some research and bought a Samsung YP T5-VC, which turned out to be a great purchase (see my review at epinions). I hope this review is helpful. Definitely do your research.

Appalling sound quality
by ucc2314 ,May 11 '04
Pros: Small, radio works fine. Cons: Songs unrecognizable. Horrible sound quality from WMA files.
This product appeared to have a lot of features for a relatively low price. It works as advertised, with no installation problems. However, when listening to a WMA file the sound quality is incredibly poor (I didn't bother with an MP3). On some tracks, only the drumbeat is heard and all the singing or other instruments are inaudible. On others it is the reverse. Using files that sound perfect from the computer, experimenting with varying bit rates and two different sets of songs I got no improvement. I am returning it at my earliest opportunity.

Excellent value and features!
by dmgilfilen ,Apr 03 '04
Pros: Everything Cons: Needs a "play for X minutes" option with auto-shutoff
Previous review mentioned lousy battery life, but his comments indicated a preference to keep the backlight on at all times.
I use this for books on tape(via MP3) and let it run continuously, so I do not ever use the backlight and get 10 to 12 hours of battery life out of each AAA battery. I'll probably get some AAA rechargeable batteries and deal with the fact that I only get 8 to 10 hours each, which is twice as long as it takes to recharge a spare battery.
BUY THIS PLAYER YOU WILL LOVE IT...
