Pros: 3-box answering machine, caller ID, 50 number storage Cons: CID call back doesn't work for Long Distance calls
I have had this phone for awhile now. Let's just say after my previous experience with VTech 2434 phone I am quite satisfied. The reason I came to own this phone was because I had such a bad time with the 2434 that they finally replaced it for the 4th ...

Pros: * It works. Sometimes
* Looks Decent
* Loud if battery is charged
Cons: * Non-intuitive
* Battery dies easily
* Answering machines deletes wrong messages
My cell phone doesn't work at home, so I gave in and got a land line. Now all I needed was a phone and answering machine. Looking for reliability, I took a false turn and bought the Vtech T2451. The honeymoon was short. What's to love? Well, sometimes ...

Pros: Looks pretty Cons: Worthless grouping of plastics & electronics
I owned the Vtech 2.4GHz Cordless (t2451) Phone for 1 week. I bought it online from store I frequently buy from

Don't buy this phone
by corpbombshell ,May 21 '05
Pros: Attractive... Cons: Very low talk time!
Product is attractive but fails in usability. This phone is a running joke with all our friends. The phone must be charged constantly. I would average the talk time to be about 20 minutes...I'm not kidding. And when it does work the sound is poor. I have no idea which phone to buy now but I thought I could help by saving any buyers time and money. Do NOT buy this phone.

Don't waste your money on this phone
by vlal ,Sep 18 '03
Pros: Cool design, headset included Cons: Poor sound quality, poor phone quality
My wife bought this phone from Costco for $39.99 as a gift for me. After charging it for about 10 hours, when I first heard the voice quality on this 2.4GHz phone, it was worse that my old 900MHz Panasonic.
Since it was a gift, I decided to keep it - but in the 2nd week of operation, I had my first shock - during a call, the handset suddenly went dead complaining of low battery.
After charging overnight, it worked fine for another week and then the same thing happened. After that I went straight back and returned the phone. I'm reading the reviews to see if I can find a better Panasonic.
I really liked the belt clip and the headset, but with the headset on, the voice quality became extremely poor.
Look for another model.

CHEAP! CAN'T Hear Anything! Worse than 900MHz
by smaegal ,Jul 27 '04
Pros: Cheap (cost) Cons: CHEAP Quality! Awful, pitiful, horrible sound. Be prepared to talk LOUD!
We've had Vtech 900MHz phones for years. One even survived being dropped down a flight of stairs twice. So when we needed a new phone they were top of the list. On Sale at Target, what a deal. (?)
However, this one and the 2406 are the WORSE sounding cordless phones I've ever heard. You strain to hear any part of the conversation. Our old 900MHz has better clarity, and reception, and I can hear people when they call. Also, if I use a cell phone to call home, my lovely wife has to talk REALLY LOUD for me to hear her.
Spend a little more on a higher end Vtech. Unfortunately, we threw away the boxes the day after we bought them, and thus they'll end up on Ebay or at Goodwill soon.

Do the Math
by jondapicam ,Nov 23 '04
Pros: Great features: caller ID, phone book, and clip Cons: Reception
This is a product with a lot of plusses and minusses. We bought it because the 900 MHZ phone we had interfered with the second 900 MHZ phone
I'll start with the plusses. The phone with its caller ID function and built in 50 number directory is great. You can dial someone from the caller ID or the memory just by bringing it up on the screen and then hitting talk. The controls are easy to use, once you get used to them from your previous phone. The clip on the back of the handset was handy when outside. These features alone made it a good buy.
However, there are minuses. 2.4 ghz is a frequency that gets a lot of interference. Don't try to use it near a microwave, or if you live close to a place that has a base station for walkie talkies. There is a lot of static, and the earpiece is not the clearest I've heard.
