Pros: Effectiveness, ease of use, control panel Cons: Noise, drain connection hookup

Pros: Rapidly / efficiently dries room, easy to unpack, setup and use, low temp usage Cons: Location of drain plug, a little noisy
AD50USL I unfortunately had the misfortune to need to replace my dehumidifier. I previously had a Kenmore Model that in a mere two years of running it only from late spring to early fall, it stopped working. I say unfortunate since dehumidifiers are ...

Pros: Removes water from the air.
Is not ugly.
You can find it in the dark. Cons: Noisy. LOUD!
Rattles, whines, squeaks & vibrates.
Bucket too small for 50 pint unit.

BEST WHEN TURNED OFF!!
by wschneid ,Jul 27 '06
Pros: Looks good, quiet when in off, Whirlpool name Cons: Noisy, unrepairable, Whirlpool name
Purchased last year during a very wet season and put up with the noise, thinking it was normal. Like other reviews, this unit is VERY noisy! I mean "can cause hearing damage" within 12 feet of running unit. While running you will not be able to...have a normal tone conversation, watch television, sleep, or be anywhere near where the unit is. I thought this was what was normal until two weeks ago heard a GE unit running. I asked the owner if it was on?? Upon that confirmation, I contacted Whirlpool with complaint. Very nice to deal with, but only covered parts not labor due to over one year old. It is more tolerable, but still on the noisy side. I will sell this at my next garage sale! My next unit will not be a Whirlpool, and will be tested in store before purchase.
