Pros: Really, really cleans clothes. Sparse water usage. Washer & dryer both cycle at 40 minutes. Cons: Not cheap (but you get what you pay for). Can wrinkle some pants legs.
This Whirlpool Duet HT washing machine is a great product that does an excellent job cleaning clothes while using a minimum amount of water. It can swallow a huge load of clothes and has nice extras such as the high temperature "sanitary" cycle. It's ...
Pros: Ease of front loading, lots of wash options, hand washables, easy on clothes. Cons: Make sure the small stuff is not near the rubber seal.
We purchased the washer and dryer to replace another set that finally wore out after 15 years. I was after a front loader and am so glad that I did. This was purchased in July 2004 and is still going strong. At first I called the company right ...
Pros: Huge wash barrel. Very miserly with water. Top quality wash. Spins clothes almost dry. Cons: High price. Lock mode baffling to neophyte.
OK, that's my lame attempt at being clever. The scuttlebutt, from all the folks I have talked to and reports I have read, is that this made-in-Germany but American-branded machine is actually far more reliable than the German brands such as Bosch. ...
Pros: Quiet, low water usage, gentle with clothes. Cons: Extremely short bearing life, can't get parts, loud vibration-noise on highest spin speed.
(Please read this whole review and the continuation on my web site. You simply won't believe what Whirlpool is putting me through.) Three months shy of four years and the drum bearing is shot and needs to be replaced. The bearing alone costs ...
Pros: All the same as those mentioned by all the others who dished-out $2000. Cons: Besides the BAD SMELL, the door of the washer opens to the wrong side.
It is true, the matching set looks great in the utility room and the height is absolutely perfect (especially for chubby women like me who have problems stooping to a lower level). The height when sitting on the pedestals is also perfect for those who ...
Pros: Most expensive washer we have ever bought! Cons: Leaks every time you do a load of laundry.
I have owned Whirlpool washers for over 25 years. I have had more repair calls (6) on the Duet washer in the last 10 months than I have had in the 25 years I have owned Whirlpool washers. And this washer cost us over $1000! Everytime we do a load, ...
Pros: Looks nice. Cons: The horrible stench that this causes is repulsive.
We purchased the Whirlpool Duet in 2005. After only having it 3 months, we began to notice a mildew smell in the machine and a stench on our clothing (especially towels). The repair man came out and said that we must leave the door open when not in use ...
Pros: Great cleaning action, spinning cycle extracts most water out of the clothes Cons: "Bulky items" cycle leaks stream of water at base of the circular window.
Prior to buying the Whirlpool Duet washing machine and dryer in April of this year, my previous Whirlpool washer and dryer had lasted 22 years and we are a family of 6. We purchased the Duets because of the excellent experience with Whirlpool products ...
Pros: They look eye-catching. It does large loads. I can keep up with five kids. Cons: They leak, wear out fast, oversuds turn your laundry into a stiff, smelly mess.
I'm not fond of these machines at all. Mine leaks when I use the sanitary cycle more than twice in a row, which I have to in Hawaii, as we have really sweaty laundry here. The repair man blamed us for it. I now know he was completely lying. The ...
Pros: Wow! Clean, quiet, fast. Spins the water out for fast dry times. Cons: Needs a little floor prep on some crawlspaces. But worth it!
This machine performs well. It is amazing how clean and fresh the loads are. But I want to pass along some tips to make sure you have the best experience. One, the machine comes with special bolts that secure the suspension system when moving the ...
Pros: Washes very well, uses very little water, LARGE capacity Cons: Noise during spin cycle
Wonderful washer, uses little water, great capacity! The only disconcerting aspect at first is the spin cycle. Sounds like a jet getting ready to take off in the laundry room. I asked service to double check to make certain it sits level, they say it's fine, but it really shakes during the final spin cycle when going so fast. Otherwise, easy on the clothes, always come out clean. Matching dryer is as good.
Pros: Very efficient, fun to watch, a cycle for everything Cons: Price, your friends will start to bring over their laundry
This washing machine rocks! I bought this because I wanted a front loader and for all of the features. There is a wash cycle for everything! I washed my hockey jersey on "hand washables", my area rugs on "bulky", and everything else goes in on "normal" or "casual". Everything I have put into this thing has come out remarkably clean.
Pros: Speed, energy efficient, gets clothes very clean Cons: Cost but well worth it, spin cycle is too loud
This is my first front loader washer and I didn't know what I was missing until now. Quick! Quick! Quick! I have none of the problems mentioned in the other reviews so either they have a lemon or it is user error. with on exception. The spin cycle is so fast it is loud and shakes the house. Whirlpool came out and checked it and basically told me it is not designed to be upstairs. Oh well, the cycle doesn't last long anyway. I will say this; the clothes are very dry after the spin! Match this bad boy with the Duet dryer and you will finish laundry faster than you can imagine. Highly recommend the pair.
Pros: Nice height, good capacity Cons: Smells 100% of the time
The Duet washer was already in our beautiful executive home when we moved in. I thought 'wow - how lucky!'. NOT. I have decided to purchase an old style top loader - I can't stand the smell in the laundry room. What is Whirlpool thinking?
Pros: NONE!!! Cons: Not worth any amount of money to buy and whirlpool we not replace my cloths!!!!
Very costly to buy and to own! It tears my cloths and if it dose not tear them it puts white rub marks on our cloths. I don't beleave we have a piece of clothing in our house that doesn't have a rub mark on them. THANKS, Debbie e-mail williams@seacove.net 2-15-05
