  • Westinghouse WST1600 Cordless Vacuum: A Useful Gadget?

    Dec 4, 2003 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: No cord!!! Powerful, easy to use, good battery, versatile
Cons: None that I have found

Summary: Are you looking for a vacuum that does not have you tethered to an electrical outlet? How about one that you can use inside or outside? Perhaps, you just want a vacuum that will work the way it is supposed to. Welcome to the Westinghouse WST1600. I ... read more

  • 60/40 I would ever BUY one

    Oct 22, 2007 by
    Rated a Helpful Review
Pros: It actually gets pet hair out of the carpet!!!
Cons: Batteries don't last as long as the manufacturer states by half.

Summary: I was GIVEN this really rather heavy cordless vacuum by a woman who claimed it 'sucked great', but was too heavy for her (smaller than I am and I'm pretty small). She didn't tell me that she also had to clean it constantly, and apparently she hadn't, as ... read more

  • WST1600A- I like it real good

    Jul 28, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Cordless, ease of cleaning and washing. Heavy weight, memory and steel flex hose.
Cons: Attachment holders could be more sturdier.

Summary: I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. Most battery operated appliances only last temporarily ie, that duster vacuum item. The Unplugged so far is OK. I bought it for my office but took it home and demonstrated it to my wife and she loves ... read more

  • Unplugged is all plugged up

    Mar 8, 2007 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
    Pros: Cool looking
Cons: Plugs up every time, durability

Summary: Even though I live in a small studio and can vacuum the whole thing from one electrical outlet with a traditional corded vacuum, I can still appreciate the concept and benefits of a full size truely cordless upright. While this vacuum is indeed ... read more

  • Wanted to smash this thing and then some!

Pros: Museum Of Worlds Worst Products presents worlds most appealing failed product.
Cons: Max 20 minute battery charge, Constant cleaning of filters and bin, Weak suction.

  • The perfect vacuum? No... However, a great product that may just be perfect for some!

    May 27, 2006 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Cordless ease of use, good multi-stage HEPA filtration, easy empty container, quick access cleaning wand!
Cons: Suction is less than many (most) corded models, frequent cleaning schedule for pre-filters required.

Summary: Here I go again... (yes, yet another long in-depth review). After recently completing a rather lengthy write-up of the Hoover Z 700 vacuum (which incidentally was returned to the store as it simply wasn't everything I had hoped for in a $350+ vacuum, or ... read more

Pros: REALLY WORKS NO CORDS NO BELTS NO BAGS ..
Cons: A Bit heavy but worth it for the cordless feature

  • It doesn't get any EASIER than this!

    Oct 25, 2004 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Convenient and EASY! Good Suction. Quiet.
Cons: Frequent emptying. Expensive if you pay retail.

Summary: Many complaints about the WST1600 seem to be related to the fact that it jams easily. Here is my take on it. A vacuum cleaner can not do the job for you, it can only aid you in getting the job done. It's not a Shop-Vac. Five kids, one husband, two ... read more

  • A major disappointment

    Dec 29, 2003 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Dust cup aside, no positives.
Cons: vastly overpriced, underpowered, disappointing, avoid.

Summary: I bought this as a gift for my wife, I know, I know, what a lousy gift. But the lady LOVES to vacuum(obsessive?), and I know she'd never buy herself such an extravagant high-tech vac. She was thrilled to get it, and peeved that she had to wait 24hrs to ... read more

  • WST1600 Cordless Vacuum

    Dec 28, 2003 by
    Rated a Very Helpful Review
Pros: Cordless, quiet, and powerful. Very easy to clean.
Cons: Heavy! Power head brush should be made to adjust automatically for differences in carpet thickness.

Summary: This vacuum does everything that the manufacturer describes. I can now vacuum around my sofa, coffee table, and recliners without the cord knocking over the fireplace tools, knick-knacks, and lamps, and without having to constantly unplug and replug the ... read more

    Pros: Cordless, easy to handle
Cons: Lack of suction, unwieldy hose.

Summary: I bought the unplugged vacuum about 3 months ago and I'm very disappointed. It has about 1/2 of the suction as any other plugged in vacuum I've ever used. In the beginning, the dirt would swirl in the canister but now it just sits there even though I ... read more

    Pros: cordless
    Cons: weak, powerless and disappointing

Summary: I already had to send the first one back because the brush failed. There is no way to remove the brush for cleaning. It has no suction power and leaves a little mess. This would not be a good vacuum for any kind of medium to heavy duty ... read more

    Pros: No Cords

Pros: Nothing at all. Its concept is the only thing that is good.
    Cons: Everything

Summary: I had gone shopping for a vacuum, and wanted one that sucked....but did not suck ;-) I thought I would choose this one because the battery seemed big enough and it came with 2 of them. However I would have been better buying a dustbuster. I had read ... read more

    Pros: Cordless
    Cons: Poorly designed

Summary: We are currently on our second one of these vacuums. The brush on the first one would not stay on, so we returned it. Happier with our much quieter second one, it has been used four times and now the brush will not work. The motor labors to turn the ... read more

    Pros: Easy to maneuver...Cordless
    Cons: Heavy, Does NOT Vacuum

Summary: I was so excited about the idea of having a CORDLESS vac! I have four kids and with everyone running around a cordless was just up my alley. How disappointed I was when I finally got to operate it. (It takes an initial 24 hours for the battery packs to ... read more

Pros: No cord - 2 battery packs
    Cons: No power, loose connections

  • Better than most

Pros: Quiet, easy to use, and does a satisfactory job
Cons: Container to hold dirt is a little too deep to clean all the way out.

Summary: After purchasing two Eureka vacuums, one dirt devil, and one hoover, I finally found one I like. The Westinghouse evidently does a better job cleaning as there is more dirt and dust to clean out of it than the other brands I have tried lately. Quieter tha ... read more

  • Not worth it.

    Oct 27, 2003 by

Pros: Cordless, fairly quiet. Good, compact design with all of the necessary features. Easy to maneuver.
Cons: Didn't pick up the dirt, and doesn't look like you've vacuumed when you're done.

Summary: I love the idea of the cordless vacuum, and even didn't mind the very large battery charger. But it says it has more amps than any corded vacuum (15 compared to 12), which didn't come through when I used the vacuum. Just picking up lint off the carpet r ... read more

  • poorly designed

    Pros: nice idea on paper
    Cons: see above

Summary: Heavier than any corded vac I've tried, almost too heavy to lift. A total of four filters to keep clean. Complicated instructions. "Beltless" roller brush gets jammed with shag-type rugs. Battery recharging unit about the size of a toaster, and noisy. Va ... read more
