Pros: Fast, great quality color, easy to use Cons: Jams, never as fast as we want it, finicky processing.
When my department at work was having major problems meeting our printing needs, we were prepared to buy our own, dedicated printer/copier for our end of the office. I am on the marketing team for several real estate investment (i.e. $$$$$$) brokers....
The DC12 is one of the newest color creations to come from Xerox. It was introduced in October of 1999 and had rave reviews. The product has sold many since it's birth and still is strong today.

Pros: Great Color, Prints on many stocks Cons: Duplexer
We purchased this Printer/Copier around 3/00 to replace the Minolta/Fiery combo that was requiring service once or twice a week. My department is creative services and we use this printer for color proofing and Matchprints. We purchased the Imation...
Pros: Inexpensive used machines are available on eBay; wet, luscious color; fixed copy cost Cons: Heavy machine, costs a lot to ship; by todays standards, this is a slow machine.
As I write this, Xerox has discontinued production of this model in favor of faster models. That means this is the perfect time to buy one used on eBay. The price is right and the color is not comparable with anything else on the market. It is a rich, ...
This machine just won't go away! by kellymcshorty ,Sep 15 '06
Pros: Amazing color quality Cons: Slow, slightly unreliable
This is an enigma of a machine. The average saleable life cycle of machines is 2 - 5 years usually. Then, technology moves on, people want better, faster, stronger things and forget about old faithful sitting in the basement. Not the case with the DocuColor 12. This machine just won't go away!
With a slow printing speed you not expect people to be wanting them still, but it's all in the quality. Even compared to Xerox's newest offering, the prints have a quality all their own. Thanks to its design, the prints have a beautiful, crisp, glossy look that no new machine can touch.
The negative points are many, but people still want this machine. When the prints are this lovely, you'll put up with a lot of crap! The machine is SLOW, especially with larger paper or heavier stocks. It jams more than newer machines, but they are easy to clear.
Overall, it's hard to knock a machine that people will pay good money for, even used!
